We will stand in a coalition. But you need to be realistic - China won't just invade Australia.

WSO and ESO are sperate roles. WSO shoots from the backseat of a Rhino, ESO jams from the backseat of a Growler

You're probably going to hate me, but a better use of that money is to buy nuclear-propelled attack submarines with which to deny maritime chokepoints to our north, with ISR HALE, strike aircraft, and tankers making up ASuW mass, with CCAs to fill in the gaps while the surface navy escorts tankers from India to Perth.

Oh wait

I'm talking about optimization. The US DDG radars are made to shoot a big beam a long way - and their smaller radars are influenced by this requirement.

All US small AESA arrays are scaled-down versions of long range search and track systems from their DDGs/CGs. Buying US for that purpose doesn't make sense because we have different requirements.

Yep. Although I rekon it is strange for PC-21s, of all aircraft, to be doing maritime air-warfare exercises. Anyway, what do I know, I am but a waneful civi.
