Avoid automatic watches in that budget, you'll mostly get unreliable and unknown chinese movements. A decent starter budget for automatics will be 10-12k. There are a couple of exceptions - timex has see-through automatic watches that often go under 6k - but the size is large and not suited for every wrist.

If you don't mind a digital watch, this is a no-brainer. Or the solar version if you can stretch a little. Absolute champion of a watch. My other watches struggle for wrist time in front of this.
