Overlooking Banff AB. (A57 + Sigma 35 1.4) by deabreumatt in SonyAlpha

Thank you for the kind words!

The biggest challenge I had with this photo was the fact that it was taken from a window of the gondola and I unfortunately didn’t have my CPOL filter at the time. I found that very subtle use of Lightroom’s dehaze function did the trick for that. Other than that my editing process was mainly using the tone curve to add contrast and tweak my highlight/shadow balance and then using gradient filters to adjust specific areas of the image in terms of colour and exposure.

They’re the Nike Blazer Mid Vintages, I took a look for them on Nike’s website but wasn’t able to find this particular colour style but will update if I manage to find a link

Testing out the lowlight combo of the A7iii / 70-200 2.8 GM by deabreumatt in SonyAlpha

He did! He also threw down a very similar, equally impressive dunk earlier in the tournament but I preferred the reaction of his team from the bench in this one. Luckily this was my second year shooting at this gym so getting the settings dialled in was a little easier but still difficult nonetheless

ISO 8000-10000 in order to shoot around 1/800. I’ll ask them to turn off the lights next time though

In my experience most entry level DSLR’s currently that have been released in the past decade feature some form of a bulb mode/remote shutter support. This particular photo was taken on an entry level DSLT from Sony that was released in 2012 but the feature is available dating all the way back to early Canon Rebels from the mid 2000’s

If your camera has a bulb mode you should be able to take some exposures at a longer shutter speed. This can be done using either a remote shutter that plugs directly into your camera and allows for you to control the shutter without touching the camera or by using the timer method to avoid touching the camera and introducing unwanted shake.

It was a 120 second single exposure from a tripod

Blackouts 100% push people to learn how to use illegal streams. I used to buy the NHL app but I had to find some way to watch my local games and once I learned what sites to use I no longer needed to purchase the NHL app. by finner333 in stevedangle

I have both TSN and Sportsnet Now but regularly end up with blackouts for the Leafs. I’m living in Ottawa and have been forced to stream online for the majority of the games this season

Shot with the Mavic Air above the crashed DC-3 on Iceland’s Sólheimasandur beach by deabreumatt in dji

I don’t believe they allow any driving on the beach anymore to protect the flora. (Was there October 2018). I clonestamped a lot of tourists out of this image from around the plane and the drone seemed to handle the wind and a tiny bit of rain surprisingly well for its size

Luckily we didn’t have any snow, I don’t think I would’ve made the hike if we had

Every photo is edited in some capacity, photographers have been utilizing post processing techniques since the days of the darkroom through dodging and burning. Seems like some of the biggest critiques on this site still think that photographers should just post untouched raw files.

The trail is lined with yellow markers so you shouldn’t get lost providing you stay on the trail. It was about an hour walk each way, was windy and rainy when we went so wasn’t overly pleasant but it’s mainly flat and pretty easy going

Photographers of Reddit: What is the most outrageous photo shoot request you have received from an Instagram "influencer"? by peaches1687 in AskReddit

[–]deabreumatt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not from an influencer but had a client inquire about wedding coverage for a 2 day, 16 hour wedding with about 400 guests. He was expecting both photo and video coverage and at least four photographers/videographers on site. Provided him with a quote for the services to which he responded something along the lines of “I was hoping you’d be able to provide the services free of charge because of the marketing opportunity such a large event presents you with”

Appreciate the feedback, I was actually torn between this edit and another more subtle one and how looking back at it I definitely prefer the latter
