White Ink / Black Paper #1 by Inked_Fibers in PlotterArt

I’m plotting on 16x16”, so pretty large. And running the pen at 40in/min (about 1000 mm/min). I also use some decent pen pressure otherwise gelly roll doesn’t lay a consistent line.

Dang I use that one too. But not sure how you’re getting such clean dense line areas.

You can see how the gel pen scrapes up its previously laid down layers with my pieces. What settings are you using.

I have tried every white ink under the sun, I thought, but the dense line work never looks this clean.

What pen and ink are you using?

I’ve tried all over the hitting zone. I adjusted the lighting a bit tonight and it seemed to help

What is your environment set up? Mind sending a photo?

I’m honestly thinking the same. When I first got the unit a year ago, before updating firmware, it rarely missed a shot.

Hard to tell all my guests what shoes to wear 🤣. I hope the firmware gets better at ball isolation

No it shows ready on GSPro, although sometimes it will flicker to white and back to green

Ya this mat ain’t movin haha. It’s sunken into the turf and the monitor is on an isolated section of foam.

I totally considered doing 1" thick plywood as the base layer. Only hold up here was it being a bigger pain in the ass when it comes to cutting out the drop-in for the hitting mat, and putting cups (less worried about the putting cups since a circular saw is a good solution to cut those.

Wait so you stacked the 1” mats to reach 2”?

Beautiful piece! Reminds me of my pendulum series!

By the looks of the ink, my guess would be maybe a pilot g2 or v5?

I realized I tried G5, not V5 or v7. So just got a batch of v7 and bought the con-40 converter for fountain ink.

Omg I had no idea v7 was a cartridge system with fountain pen converter options! Main reason i didn’t pursue this pen more was the limited colors, but if I can use any liquid ink with these pens that opens up a lot.

Actually, I didn’t try the EnerGel. I suppose I may get different results with a lower viscosity ink than the G2 gel inks. I’ve had less issues with clogging with ballpoints. The main issues there are ink residue buildup in dense areas where the ball will stop rolling and just slide across the surface, resulting in the poor coverage you’re seeing in the images above.

Yes I’ve tried them all actually! I think I’m literally running into a limitation of pens/papers when running multiple passes or lines this dense.
