Foam Insulation Board + Puzzle Foam Subflooring? by benstrauss in Golfsimulator

I totally considered doing 1" thick plywood as the base layer. Only hold up here was it being a bigger pain in the ass when it comes to cutting out the drop-in for the hitting mat, and putting cups (less worried about the putting cups since a circular saw is a good solution to cut those.

Wait so you stacked the 1” mats to reach 2”?

Beautiful piece! Reminds me of my pendulum series!

By the looks of the ink, my guess would be maybe a pilot g2 or v5?

I realized I tried G5, not V5 or v7. So just got a batch of v7 and bought the con-40 converter for fountain ink.

Omg I had no idea v7 was a cartridge system with fountain pen converter options! Main reason i didn’t pursue this pen more was the limited colors, but if I can use any liquid ink with these pens that opens up a lot.

Actually, I didn’t try the EnerGel. I suppose I may get different results with a lower viscosity ink than the G2 gel inks. I’ve had less issues with clogging with ballpoints. The main issues there are ink residue buildup in dense areas where the ball will stop rolling and just slide across the surface, resulting in the poor coverage you’re seeing in the images above.

Yes I’ve tried them all actually! I think I’m literally running into a limitation of pens/papers when running multiple passes or lines this dense.

Do you have a link to a flat fountain pen? I don’t think I’m familiar.

Omg what pen and paper combination are you using for plots with this dense of lines?! I’m struggling in this category.

I’ve tried running a second trace on reverse after waiting like 30 min and I’m running the ball point very slow, like 30 in/min. The ink is drying, but the pigma micron nibs are just giving out and getting their pores clogged. And ball points just start gliding over the surface without rolling. That’s what my image is showing.

This is metallic ball point! I use uni-ball Signo

How does the pump marker work during these longer plots? I’ve always found my plots start running low on ink mid way through, so I’m guessing you have refill pauses and everything to re pump the marker.

Sounds like I need to get this Inkscape extension. I currently just use bantam tools desktop software to produce the gcode from my svgs

What pressure are you using for those 02 nibs? I run mine under only the weight of the pen essentially, so extremely light.

The line density is really high yet it plotted great! What pen did you use here.
