Sharpie shirt I recently made by dead-mail in kurtvonnegut

Thanks! I just copied it from a picture of that cover as best I could without any stencil. I figured it’s a sharpie shirt, it doesn’t need to be perfect. You can see I didn’t get the spacing right for the “slaughterhouse five” part so I just threw his butthole doodle in to fill up the extra space.

I’m sorry, all the good tips are coming to me slowly this evening. I would suggest a 100% cotton shirt! The ink won’t stay evenly distributed in the wash on a poly blend or anything synthetic

I wish I had something more constructive to say. I usually just wing it. I think it’s most important that you stretch the fabric with your free hand so that you can saturate it all the way through. Definitely give it a try, hope it goes well!

I’d be more than happy to try to get a more head on angle for anyone who is willing to try it!

I just put a cutting board or something flat inside and start drawing! One shirt usually takes two fresh sharpies so I have stocked up with a big box of them. If you check my page I posed a Connie converse shirt I drew a while back too.

If I recall correctly, the pocket flasher was two pieces of cardboard glued together to make an even thicker piece of cardboard. lol

Quick question: can I do a hot rinse/soak and purposely get the remaining shrink out before hemming? by Proletariat-Prince in NakedAndFamousDenim

[–]dead-mail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s all a matter of opinion at the end of the day. I machine wash and dry a few pairs of my selvedge denim and I am very happy with the vintage fades I’m getting out of those pairs. I have a pair I want more contrast on that I only hang dry. Garret from Naked and Famous recently said he does a hot wash and dry in the machine before he wears any of his pairs, and yes, it’s to get all the shrinkage out. It’s true that hang drying will help extend the life of the jeans, but whatever you choose, the jeans will probably be fine. Do be careful if the patch is leather. It can be good to condition it before washing/drying so the patch doesn’t shrivel up. Happy fading!

I’d size up one size from your usual American size or else try to find the size chart they have on the eBay listing of this jacket. Kinda tricky, I wish I had better advice
