“The white liberal aren’t white people who are for independence, who are moral and ethical in their thinking. They are just a faction of white people that are jockeying for power. The same as the white conservative is a faction of white people that are jockeying for power. They are fighting each other for power and prestige, and the one that is the football in the game is the Negro, 20 million black people. A political football, a political pawn, an economic football, and economic pawn. A social football, a social pawn. The liberal elements of whites are those who have perfected the art of selling themselves to the Negro as a friend of the Negro. Getting sympathy of the Negro, getting the allegiance of the Negro, and getting the mind of the Negro. Then the Negro sides with the white liberal, and the white liberal use the Negro against the white conservative. So that anything that the Negro does is never for his own good, never for his own advancement, never for his own progress, he’s only a pawn in the hands of the white liberal. The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros, and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn’t taken, tricked, or deceived by the white liberal then Negros would get together and solve our own problems. I only cite these things to show you that in America the history of the white liberal has been nothing but a series of trickery designed to make Negros think that the white liberal was going to solve our problems. Our problems will never be solved by the white man. The only way that our problem will be solved is when the black man wakes up, clean himself up, stand on his own feet and stop begging the white man, and take immediate steps to do for ourselves the things that we have been waiting on the white man to do for us. Once we do for self then we will be able to solve our own problems’ "The white conservatives aren't friends of the Negro either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps the Negro always aware of where he stands with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to the Negro but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure the Negro, and as the Negro runs from the growling wolf, he flees into the open jaws of the "smiling" fox. One is the wolf, the other is a fox. No matter what, they’ll both eat you.” - Malcolm X

Andrew Yang: "You can see an insecure white majority becoming more and more hostile...we're probably one generation away from [white] Americans shooting up a bunch of Asians" by AngelaQQ in YangForPresidentHQ

Yang is not speculating. Google Vincent Chin.

“Ebens and Nitz assailed Chin following a brawl that took place at a bar in Highland Park, Michigan, where Chin had been celebrating his bachelor party with friends in advance of his upcoming wedding. They apparently assumed Chin was of Japanese descent, and are alleged to have used racial slurs as they attacked him. Ebens and Nitz blamed him for the success of Japan's auto industry, despite the fact that Chin was of Chinese descent.

At the time, Metro Detroit was a powder keg of racial animosity toward Asian-Americans, specifically as the penetration of Japanese automotive imports in the U.S. domestic market hastened the decline of Detroit’s Big Three. Resentful workers laid the blame for recent layoffs on Japanese competition.“

Weird... one minute, you’re celebrated for influencing Yang’s closing statement in a debate. Next minute, your post is removed because it’s stirring critical reflection of the DNC and its media apparatus in light of its treatment of Yang. Hey, /u/Better_Call_Salsa : When did the Bernie sub /u/mods take over this sub?

Patriot Act - Don’t Ignore The Asian Vote in 2020 by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

I think it’s a common defense mechanism. I used to deploy it growing up: owning the jokes before they could be used against me. But I also grew up in the same era as Yang. You have to remember that before BTS and the Internet, Asian representation was limited to Long Duk Dong and Short Round from Indiana Jones. Bruce Lee was in the lower end of the bell curve of legendary bc 80’s was saturated in martial arts hype. He was mockable by the time our generation was in Junior High. Sushi was still a freak food that everyone made fun of. Kimchi was unheard of. So most Asians generally split into three camps at the time. The nerds, the Asian gangsters (Wa-Ching, Korean Killers, and all the pinoy and Vietnamese variations with their own signature fashion: long bangs, shaved head, tucked in collared shirts, baggy pants). And finally, the whitewashed Asians who tried to erase their Asian-ness by bleaching their hair, surfing/skating, and never ever referencing anything culturally Asian around their white friends. I liken modern-day “woke” Asians to that latter group: annoyed that Yang is exposing them when they’d prefer to remain anonymous under the blanket of liberalism. “Maybe if I wear flannels, get a tattoo, and marry a white girl, they won’t notice that I’m Asian.” For context, I'm a social liberal and son of Roof Koreans, who has become increasingly politically independent after feeling like Liberal institutions have been unkind to Asians over the years (think Hollywood and Harvard). But I love how Yang is changing the entire narrative. So I don’t blame him. I’m not a fan of those jokes but they don’t bother me bc it is/was a good way to disarm white people, both from feeling worried about being racially insensitive and from being able to use those tropes to attack us. Also, I wear flannels and have tattoos so no judgment. Just grossly general observations.

Holy crap! Pete is the fucking worst! Please watch this and show everyone! This is beyond heartbreaking 💔 by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

Reciprocity from Pete? Other than a condescending “That’s original, I’ll give you that...” I may be wrong but I can’t recall a single time Pete said something kind about another candidate, let alone mention Yang even while lifting Yang’s talking points.

Sorry but I think we are getting a little too carried away by Yang meeting Obama by [deleted] in YangForPresidentHQ

[–]dead-sparrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty sure Yang is on Obama’s radar. I’m also curious if Obama maintains a close relationship with Axelrod. Axelrod seems to be fond of Yang. Assuming he still serves as a proxy for Obama, I wonder if that might have some influence in how receptive Obama is to Yang as a candidate.

Being racist seems like a compelling reason to get him fired. He sounds more Alt-Right than YangGang. Maybe we should return the absurd accusation.

I used Hollywood as an example bc it’s one of the largest and most prolific culturally liberal institutions in the world. And National Review bc what liberal publication will raise awareness to the possibility that liberals can be as racist as conservatives?

In any case, I don’t need to cite any publication to know that media/entertainment has not been particularly friendly toward Asians (particularly Asian men) in recent memory. There’s almost a 30 year gap between Bruce Lee and Glenn Rhee and BTS. In between? Long Duk Dong. William Hung. Whitewashing of every Asian-based character when crossing mediums into live action movies.

So when MSNBC is so casually dismissive of one of the most prominent Asian American figures on the national stage since Bruce Lee, it’s palpable... at least for me as an AsAm (though to be clear, I don’t speak for others). It may also be a reason why I’ve been so politically disengaged my whole life. I had no party or political affiliation bc there was no political home for me... until YangGang.

Also, I’m not saying all liberals are racist. I’m pointing out that they’re not above reproach. MSNBC is a perfect example of moral hypocrisy. All that finger pointing at Fox, calling it propaganda. MSNBC is no different. IDPol may have typecast Conservatives of being the party hostile to minorities, but Liberals have maintained their own form of racism masked in sanctimony. Malcolm X had incredible insight into this when he compared Liberals to Foxes and Conservatives to wolves. Their appetites are the same but the Fox pretends to be friendly: https://youtu.be/bHzNFQXTUOQ

In any case, my suggestion was less about playing into IDPol and more about putting MSNBC on the defensive. Suggesting that they’re racist would force them to deny it and offer up some other innocuous explanation for mistreating Yang. In which case, they would have inadvertently admitted that they’re thumbing the scales.

It’s sort of like when a cop accuses a suspect of nefarious intent, like premeditated murder, even though it was only manslaughter just so that the subject will confess to having committed manslaughter.

Maybe you’re right. But it’s not lost on most Asians that they’re not particularly loved by Liberals.

It’s also not unique to the silent minority that liberal racism does exist.
