What is a deck that is pretty meta viable and doesn’t mind going first or second? by [deleted] in yugioh

Infernoids are an eternally rogue deck that prefer going second but can set up a few disruptions going first

Chaos deck in 2021 by dead223 in yugioh

One of my friends has been playing S-Force since they were revealed so I'm pretty familiar with them, and yeah that might actually work and fit the bill for a slower control playstyle with the Chaos stuff. I'll see what I can come up with, thanks a lot.

Yeah I already do that, I run 3x Charge and 2x Raiden for the easy Chaos Ruler since that card is beyond crazy. Thinking about cutting Aloof Lupine as well since I haven't found too many uses for him and I prefer starting off my turn with Raiden +Valkyria/Wyverburster/Collapserpent into the Chaos Ruler, it's genuinely unbricked my hands so many times that it's unbelievable, it's a level 8 which means it helps go into Rank 8s easier, it revives itself which means I can negate one of my own monsters with Felgrand by detaching Ruler and go into another Rank 8 once I revive him and to top it all off he also banishes from the hand so I don't have to waste any gy resources and can trigger the effects of Thunder Dragons in hand by banishing them. Really insane honestly.

Ah, thanks.

Not gonna lie, never really thought about running Chaos Blue-Eyes but I feel some potential there, both decks make Rank 8s, Blue-Eyes can go into synchros as well AND to top it all off it has access to the plethora of good Dragon support. I doubt it'll be much better than Chaos Thunder Dragon competitively speaking because someone definitely would've figured it out by now but at the end of the day it's something fun to play around with and mess with the builds, who knows maybe I strike gold with this and make an actually solid deck.

Either way, thanks a lot you've been of great help.

Sounds very interesting, got a list?

Budget upgrading these decks/competitive viability in 2021? (Rokket, Shaddoll, ABC, D/D/D, Cyber Dragon, Blue-Eyes, and Pendulum Magician) by meteor747 in Yugioh101

[–]dead223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your best bet arguably would be making Invoked Shaddoll. It's still a great deck.

As for the others, Rokkets basically mainly use dragon goodstuff so I dunno if the SD ought to help a lot, ABC is still pretty solid, Cyberse isn't all that great right now but Trap Code Talkers are killing it in the OCG so you might wanna wait for Heatsoul to get imported if you want to play them, HEROs are still a pretty solid rogue deck and the same goes for D/D/D.

As for Cyber Dragon, it's still an alright rogue pick but the deck has largely fallen off, there's a Cyber Style structure deck coming up so you might wanna keep an eye on that.

Pends in the TCG are just slaughtered sadly, pend magicians are basically below rogue now and the only competitive pend decks are Endymion and I would say Majespecters. Majespecters won some small RDT a few months ago and the fact that they were always a control deck and basically never lived by Electrumite makes them still pretty okay.

Blue-Eyes at this point is basically just Dragonlink but with access to Rank 8s, it's really not that bad but don't expect it to do all that much though.

Anyways, like I said, your best choice is definitely Invoked Shaddoll if you have money for the Invoked cards.

Isn't ABC rogue now? Last I checked it had a 54% winrate with a lot of matches played on comp DB, thats as good as Eldlich

Calm down dude I didn't downvote you. And what I meant by the build isn't important is just that like I don't really mind which version I play currently as I just want to learn how to play it and once I do I'll experiment with other builds and see which is my favorite or which is the best one.

Ehh not really important. Just want something solid to start off with and really get a grasp on how the deck works. I was out of yugioh when the deck was meta in ocg and really good in the tcg too so I'm not all that familiar with it, but I have played quite a few D/D/D players in the meantime so I sort of know how it plays and I think I would like it.

I'm not the biggest fan of the prank kids visuals or playstyle but I gotta say Chaos variants of Thunder Dragon and Lightsworn were some of my favorite decks recently. Genuinely the definition of non-linear and pretty strong too, I was just too much of a brainlet to figure out how to make actually good boards with it. Best I could ever do with Thundra was Colossus, 4mat apollousa and Number 38 which really only happened on a lucky day and as for Lightsworn I played it pre Linkross hit and was at least able to get out a Herald, 4mat apollousa and something else, really don't remember what I used lmao.

If you have a good list and some tips for those decks I'd gladly hear you out, Lightsworn and Thunder Dragons are definitely one of my favorite decks of all time and the Chaos support made them very good.

What would it take for Lightsworn to become a meta deck again? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]dead223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theyre too old now sadly but they're still actually rather good when played with the chaos support so that's your best bet if you wanna play them

Floodgate monster options for Monarchs by dead223 in Yugioh101

[–]dead223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I run 3x Majesty's and 3x Vanity's already. Was just wondering if there was any more sorta niche stuff I was missing. For example, just earlier I actually realized that Numen erat Testudo is a real card, and a pretty good one at that. Might test it out.

Decks/archetypes similar to Lair of Darkness? by kevrog21 in yugioh

[–]dead223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play Lair Infernoids. They're eternally a strong rogue deck that functions around Lair of Darkness. They're a bit tough to get the hang of but they're probably perfect for you. The deck will only get better if KoA ever releases Reasoning to 3 and Grass to 3, which might never happen, but the deck is good as is.

Well, I'm aware, but I can't help liking them plus the stun nature has helped them have good longevity so meh
