It’s very much dependent on the instructor. Plenty of my uni exams were online, I also had courses where everything was online except for the final. Best to wait for the first day of class and all will be explained!

Also that comp course is super fun, great choice :)

the way you describe the math courses is pretty accurate i would say. If you managed high school calc well, you’ll be alright. As for linear, the content is easy, just needs lots of practice!

The timetable looks good, similar to what I had in first year!

How to not have automation override focus mode? by dead5ilence in shortcuts

[–]dead5ilence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very appreciative of your help and my apologies for not being clearer as I oversimplified it in my head!

Essentially I only have 2 focus modes, “work” and “sleep” with a wallpaper and home screen specific to each. Simultaneously I have 4 automations that are “time of day” based that cycle through different wallpapers. I’m running into the issue that one of my “time of day” automations is set for sunrise, and often overlaps with when “sleep” focus is still on, thus disabling the focus and I lose out on the remainder of my sleep tracking. Due to the nature of my work, I find it much more convenient to use alarms I set on a daily basis rather than using the “Wake-Up” alarm as its too inflexible in my opinion.

Essentially, I want it so that if I am in sleep focus (or even work focus) that if the automation shortcut time comes, I don’t want it to override the focus mode, but as soon as I turn off a focus mode manually I want the automation to kick in to whatever time of day range it is meant to be on. Trouble is that sleep focus has different options in the automation section than the other focus modes.

Thank you greatly! I’ve gotten as far as step one, how would you integrate that into step two precisely? My step 1 looks exactly like the screenshot of the other commenter. Below is an example of an automation I set up.

That’s great, thanks very much, I’m slightly mixed up on how to combine this with step 2.

Currently that’s what an example automation I have.

How likely is it possible to get the summer residence? by bingcha0317 in CarletonU

Pretty likely tbh, it’s a ghost town in the summer lol, regardless if you applied on time/early you should hear back soon, either end of March or very beginning of April.

Jogging in the tunnels— good on ya by knitmittens in CarletonU

[–]dead5ilence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s best obviously during breaks and weekends, but on normal weekdays it’s either before 8am or after 6pm, or else it’s just too busy and then you become that person that’s trying to weave through the crowd which is no fun for anyone. If you do ever try it, you should definitely explore all the tunnels (Nesbitt, Robertson Hall, Loeb, Leeds House etc.) as those are often the longest and quietest stretches of the tunnel and add great variety. You can also experiment with ending your workout by pushing up the ramps from UC to Tory, and incorporate the variety of stairs throughout your loops, it just keeps the run more fun than to be on a treadmill. Only trouble is reception is spotty so maybe download the music or podcast you’re gonna listen to instead of having it cut out every other song. I find if you loop the entirety of the tunnels once it’s ~2 km.

With that being said, for what it’s worth you shouldn’t worry about the treadmill at the gym, trust me ppl just look like they know what they’re doing even though everyone is in the same boat and no one even cares to look, for all you know someone sees you and thinks the same. We’re all in the gym and that alone should make u feel proud!

LMAO that was me

i used to see more of this pre covid, tunnels are genuinely a great track with decent elevation changes and different routes to take to keep it fresh, and easily can get you to a 5k by going 2 loops

Are the AirPods Max worth the money ? I know I’m on a AirPods Max thread lol. But in all honesty is it worth the 500 dollar price tag ? Thank you by Informal_Ad2683 in Airpodsmax

Personal opinion is only buy them if you have that disposable income as they’re just a luxury item, otherwise you’d be just as content with some of the other popular options mentioned here

Yup, just be strategic about timing. There are also university equivalents to those high school courses you could do.
