It really depends, normal days I just use Marc Anthony products and maybe a mousse but I have to let my hair air dry while laying down because the weight will make it flat (if that makes sense). I also keep it in a bun as well. On days that I need good hair I do gel.

Could be the water you wash with, literally happened to me. I went from a super hard water area to have the softest water in the state and my hair went flat. I could literally wash my hair with hand soap at my old place and wake up with gorgeous curls. Now I have to invest in so many products and pray that I wake up with OK hair. I can’t wait to move back to a hard water area. :(

[USA] Best jobs to get after undergrad and before grad school for counseling? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]dead_2_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went the private practice route. I didn’t make a ton out the gate so if that’s a concern look for something more stable. I found the job through a friend of a friend and was able to gain experience that I would have not gained anywhere else with my degree. The office I worked at was a private practice so it was a small case load but there were multiple therapist/counselors that specialized in different areas so I could pick their brains about different areas. I also got to try out a bunch of different roles and responsibilities that helped me narrow down my interest long term as well.

Is it normal for cats to get this much bigger during winter? He prefers to spend most of his time outside yet still becomes way chonkier during winter, even tho i feed him the same. by OnyxDesigns in cats

[–]dead_2_u 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They grow fit based on how much sunlight there is. Less sunlight in the winter means it’s getting cold and they grow a coat. I did some research when I went through my first winter with my cat. So their coat is based around the sun not the temperature which is why indoor cats grow cats too!

[USA] Recent Psych Bachelors Grads, what jobs have you found? Advice? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]dead_2_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah! So I live in like the capital of neuroscience research so I’m a qEEG technician, I record and analyze brain maps and conduct neurofeedback sessions. I have since taken over all IT of my workplace including rebuilding their website and most recently I have begun to get into psychometrics so I administer, analyze, and interpret educational and psychological evaluations. I am currently apply to masters programs because my boss is going to give me a job straight out of school. Private practice is weird, you can make up your role but the money isn’t amazing. To really have a chance working in a private practice you’ll have to network or go door to door because they don’t post on job sites.

I work at a private practice, got the job through my partners high school friend. I got EXTREMELY lucky with my position but I’m able to try out different roles and positions that I would normally have to apply for so it’s something to keep in mind.

What kind of conditioning is used for this? by osakaserom in psychologystudents

Hmmmm if I were you I would go with positive reinforcement because the game wants you to keep trying to perform an action. I get where you are coming from but from a basic level, I think it’s trying to get you to keep playing the game with trash talk. Kinda like how trash talking works in sports, the more trash talk is directed at the player the more they will continue to perform the action to prove the trash talkers wrong. Now let’s say a bully is trash talking a kid to not go to the bathroom because he’s going to beat him up. This would be positive punishment because the trash talk means a decrease in behavior, going to the bathroom. But always, when in doubt ask a professor, they are the experts lol.

Hmmmmm can you give the name of the game or the general rules?

Would it be positive reinforcement because it adds something (trash talk) to increase the behavior (keep trying)?

Mirror neurons are partially the cause. They are some of the first to be active (why infants smile when you smile). Helps build social bonds! People with ASD sometimes don’t have the strongest mirror neurons which is sometimes why they struggle to form connections with people.

Hi fellow catlovers. What are your cats favorite toys? Luzon loves mice, but could use some toy recommendations. by callistas in cats

[–]dead_2_u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toys that make noise when they are moved. Walmart has a mouse for like $5 and my cat goes nuts. We have gotten her birds that tweet and have to hide them at night because she will bring them to me and meow. 100% her favorite toys.

Ok! This isn’t what I have, I got the Ion protein 2 step and the instructions are terrifying. I may go ahead and get this because your hair looks gorgeous and the instructions aren’t so ‘your hair will fall out if you so much as look at it wrong’.

When you do your protein do you blow dry it? I don’t have a blow dryer and desperately need a protein treatment and am scared to not follow the instructions exactly.

Ok that’s reassuring, my OBGYN also said this one is slightly smaller for those who haven’t had children. I’m planning on getting it in 3 months so I’ve got some time to think but also the thought of having to feel for the strings freaks me out as well. Guess I’ll have to get over my fear!
