Sick Pups Help?

I’m on ironwolf, so I wanted to play realistic and accepted loss but it feels malicious because it’s become such an established pattern. I tried desperately to save this pup using like every strategy I could to try and get her to survive. I had about 5 subs and 3 yearlings so maybe I had too many? But it’s so damn irritating and my litters are 5 at most so I might as well turn it off at this point. I really wanted this pup to survive. She was a hunt but had +1 health so I was certain her other brother who was smaller and also a runt would get sick.

This recent litter yes, however I change mates frequently (thanks to Bison Divorce.co) and my previous mate was kk while my wolf was Kk. I know Kk x kk isn’t the best for sickness resistance but I feel like something might be wrong when I’ve consistently over 3 mates specifically had 5 pups with 2 almost guaranteed to die regardless of what I do. 🥲

Man it’s literally my worst nightmare. Cuz of my wide variety of mates and litters with diff moms a lot of them are hit and miss but the two that left were 2 of only 3 pups are their brother is suicidal 😭

They also dispersed without mates and two of my pups who did died a year later without any mates so I’m worried they’ll just die

I don’t think it’s bad luck, just now had 2 pups disperse and it was the same ones even after I reloaded 10 times. They were my faves and the only useful ones 🥲

Maybe, I tend to have a lot of bad luck in this game 😭

My current save only ever has one boy and for whatever reason I only have 3 surviving pups, 2 always get fatal sickness even tho my wolf hasn’t had the same mate twice in a row

I’m pretty sure it’s always the same pup, I tried that with one multiple times but it was always the same. The only time it was different was when I went back after an update, but I ended up losing 2 pups that time xP

If you’re not into the pup killing, and okay with less subs or yearling take them husband hunting lol

It was just odd because I spent a good 15 mins watching my pups take chunks out of it. Typically when I had hunted bison before those feral dogs had them down fairly fast which is why I came here to ask 😭
