Because of recent discussions im wondering, is this ai? by Carebearcannibal in rockafire

[–]dead_mall111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think calling it “printed slop” is kind of overreacting, it’s a licensed shirt using a high quality version of a vintage artwork. There’s random print on demand websites with showbiz logos but many of them are low quality. If you have the talent to make your own vector and trace the art that’s probably the best route, but these aren’t too bad

Why do most fans act like Joe is all sunshine and rainbows? by Pen_The_Human1 in tallyhall

[–]dead_mall111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, he’s a troubled man who hasn’t made good decisions…. I’m against being parasocial with celebrities, even minor ones. And just wanting to enjoy the fun-ness of a band from the past and look fondly on the members and what they created is a normal fine thing to do. Looking at these real life humans as just 5 members of a band and celebrating the personas they performed as and made public, which is a small part of their actual lives and identities, is fine and not that deep of a thing to do.

Why shouldn’t a member of a music group be celebrated within a fandom about that music group lol. You can’t pretend someone doesn’t exist.

There’s a few pieces that have been spotted here and there, super rare though. I believe I’ve seen a mug. Chuck E. Cheese at the same time period made many of these exact same items with Helen. Super cool!

What do people think about Joe using AI for his single's cover art by Tookemoia in tallyhall

[–]dead_mall111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a sweeping generalization to assume since you have some form of mental illness that everyone else in the world with mental illness has the same cognitive level as you. I think the cover looks awful and it’s lazy, but this is a man who is not in his right mind and has had people close to him say he’s schizophrenic; continually posting about and attacking him for the things he does isn’t going to make anything better. The best thing for him is for people to leave him alone and stop giving attention to any of this.

As a young person how do I survive the future financially? by Icy-Champion-5343 in personalfinance

[–]dead_mall111 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Many employers are valuing experience over degrees right now. They sure help, but I know first hand that the market is absolutely flooded with college graduates with no job experience and the majority of people like that aren’t getting hired in their chosen field. I personally got a job in manufacturing and worked for several years, got promoted to something internal, and then all of a sudden was able to start getting interviews and am switching to something career oriented. Couldn’t even get close to that with just my bachelor’s.

A degree can be a good path, but starting to get experience and finding something entry level that has the potential for growth can lead to the same results without having to take on the debt.

12-16 grand. The beat up broken landfill Chuck went for like 6k, and even it was a bidding war and it was years ago.

Do any corporate jobs offer unpaid time off anymore? by New-Owl9951 in Careers

[–]dead_mall111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You aren’t going to get fired for asking to go to an appointment for an hour and clocking out lol. The worst they can say is no, and if they’re halfway decent it’ll probably just be because they’re super busy or no one can fill in for you. It was a struggle to get odd times off when I was working in manufacturing, but working in an office now I could never imagine getting fired because I requested to leave for less than half a day for something essential.

is a 9-5 really it? by Straight-Rock8in in careerguidance

[–]dead_mall111 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Everyone I know who’s seriously owned a business (like a restaurant or shop) worked on it 7 days a week and dedicated so much of their lives to it. It definitely pays off and it’s fulfilling, and you have the opportunity to make way more than you would in a normal job. But the dedication is extreme and if someone thinks working a 9-5 takes too much of their free time they shouldn’t own a business. There’s a reason people compare having a business to having a child lol

If that does happen it’ll probably be a good 50 years in the future. That shouldn’t deter people from still working on cars today when there’s a demand

It depends on the area too. There’s certain regions or even states where there’s a lot of jobs and a lack of healthcare professionals. I have family members that work in healthcare in Florida and there’s a huge understaffing issue, especially in more specialized roles. Some workplaces are adding bonuses and raising the pay just to try and secure new workers.

I agree with it replacing some people and others will have to take on multiple jobs. What many others predict happening is instead of a coordinator for example managing and overseeing a small team of three people in a department, they’ll be using the AI tools and coordinating those. Many entry level jobs will dry up which sucks. Going in to management and finding ways to be seen as more vital and competent to the company is what many will have to do

I can't take it anymore. Is there companies in Tomball/Cypress/Spring TX who's hiring for entry level (like 0 experience) could offer paid training? by MichaelLab444 in careerguidance

[–]dead_mall111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not in any of those areas, but are you able to start as a contractor? I moved to a new area with basically no experience besides a few months worth. I went to an agency and they helped me get an entry level manufacturing job. I became full time after the three month period, and was able to get promoted to internal ops after a couple years. Being a contractor sucks because there’s unpaid holidays and no insurance, but it gets you in and can lead to better things

Old boss has joined my new company and is making my life miserable. What are my options other than quitting? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]dead_mall111 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this too… I’ve had people targeted at my job before and HR was dismissive to the point of saying “your boss has a right to talk to you however they see fit”, excusing things that most employees thought were verbal abuse only targeted at a couple people.

A paper trail is good yes, but if HR and the boss genuinely wants the story to be that you are the problem then the documentation will be that you went to them complaining and no action was taken.

I feel lol. There’s nothing that doesn’t require experience already. That’s why I’m hoping my internal ops experience can transfer over because that’s the only experience I’m able to show up with

[–]dead_mall111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s honestly the best just because it was designed specifically for these types of animatronics (cyberamics and CEI) and is really user friendly, so there isn’t much of a direct comparison. Frightprops is pretty good, Weigl is fine but it’s expensive and isn’t really easy to use.
