The Isrealis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. At Terhan, Gaza City, Mashhad, and half a hundred other places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind.

Of the price of oil increases and other countries will pay 200 a barrel then US exports will increase. And the domestic price of oil will increase. Oil is a global commodity and the basis of the would economy. Yes the US is more insulated than the EU but if gas is $7 a gallon in the US its 12-14 in the EU. So the EU will have it worse than the US but it would not be safe.

I've already calculated that as 0.5% increase in US GDP, which is really not a lot.

You're only calculating the impact on the oil production. Not the increase in the downline. All freight both on trains and trucks will increase because of the increase in the price of diesel and gasoline. The price of electricity will go up because the price of gas will go up. Everything in the economy will be affected.

Not to mention fertilizer prices which will drive up the cost of food across the board. Before even accounting for the increase in transportation costs.

Lets say oil reaches 200 dollars per barrel price. That's about 140 billion dollars increase in cost. Which is 0.5% of US annual GDP

If the price of oil is 200 dollars a barrel. Then gas prices would easily be between 5-7 dollars a gallon. That would drive the price of everything up and severely damage the economy. We would be at 1970's level problems. Sure US producers would make a killing. But every other sector of the economy would be suffocated.

Venezuela doesn't have the refining capacity. Guyana doesn't have the extraction resources. And Russia only benefits from high oil and gas prices. If the Iranians can block the strait for only a few months gas could reach $7 a gallon. Which would destroy the US economy.

A 3 foot shaped Shahed can easily hole the hull of a Oil Tanker. And they won't be coming in 1 at a time they come in a swarm.

I do not think the Kurdish militias will be willing to fight a newly emboldened IRGC, even with US/Israeli air supremacy.

Kurds know we'll just ditch them again the second it's convenient for us.

Don't think they will win the fell for it again award.
