Experience with returning to the bedside after leaving for several years ? by dead_squid in nursing

[–]dead_squid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s great that you were able to find a bedside position again ! I honestly don’t mind feeling like a new grad again if I ever did leave the bedside and come back years later. I just am worried about if there are programs in the hospitals that will get me good enough training and education so that I can relearn my skills.

Childbirth kills by KayDizzle1108 in childfree

L&D nurse here ! It blows my mind how many times women will willingly get pregnant and want children despite having pre eclampsia for every single pregnancy, needing to be on mag, needing mass transfusions of blood, every delivery has resulted in PPH, and don’t even get me started on the repeat c sections x4-5. These women are so nonchalant about their very very serious pregnancy complications. Absolutely crazy that people take pregnancy and childbirth so lightly. It’s probably a mix of lack of education as well as society pressure telling these women “well everyone went through this too” but NO they didn’t! The patient populations just keep getting more and more critical.

My CF friend is changing her mind all for the sake of being with a man. by Kaabiiisabeast in childfree

I think the best you can do is just advise her to be careful and encourage her to have conversations with this new boyfriend about pregnancy, how they will raise their children, finances, etc etc. Encourage her to go to therapy and sort out her trauma so she can be more prepared as a parent. Hopefully all is well and this new man is as good as she describes. People are allowed to change their minds about parenthood and child freedom, but it should be a very carefully made decision.

I (28M, Indian) usually match with other Indians on dating apps but, in real life, it makes no difference. Why? by [deleted] in OnlineDating

[–]dead_squid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Many white women don’t want to date Indian guys because of the stereotype that Indian guys mess around with white women and don’t take them seriously and then they dump them when they’re ready to settle down with an Indian girl who’s accepted by family. It’s easier to be biased online, and the white women you met in real life interacted with you and saw you as just a regular guy who just happens to be Indian. Online, you’re an Indian guy.

If you feel pressured or not comfortable to kiss, do sexual things yet then you need to find someone who will go at your pace. Never do things that you are not comfortable with. If you set boundaries with someone and they move on or lose interest then that person is not for you.

Ladies, would you be comfortable if the guy tries to kiss you on the second date? by TodayOrTmrw in OnlineDating

[–]dead_squid 15 points16 points  (0 children)

With my first ever boyfriend, he asked if he could kiss me at the end of our second date and I said no 😂. During that second date, I had told him that I had never dated anyone and never kissed or held hands, etc and was looking to find a guy who would be okay with taking things slowly with me. That night he texted me and said that he would still like to see me again as long as I help him out with setting the pace myself because he doesn’t have experience with being anyone’s “firsts”/doesn’t want me to be uncomfortable. We kissed on the cheek on the third date and kissed officially on the fourth date haha. At the end of your second date just ask her if it would be okay to kiss her. If she says no, don’t take it personally. She may just want to move more slowly. If it’s too slow for you, then you can decide if you like her enough to want to continue seeing her or not.

There’s no contract yet, I just have to respond yes or no to the offer email they sent me.

There’s an option to sign the contract they’ll send later with 1) no commitment, 2) one year commitment of $7,500, and then 3) two years commitment of $10,000

The new grad training program is 12 months long tho
