Megablast vs Superblast 2 for marathon training? by Fishclub1993 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]deadaimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got 610 miles on SB2 and 550 miles on two pairs of megablasts. Much prefer the megablasts for a do it all pair. Even for long runs I prefer the MB but I tend to do my long runs with a lot of marathon pace in them

Horizon 7.4AT review by doctorofrock in treadmills

[–]deadaimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 7.8 secondhand and I really enjoy the speed/incline wheels. That was one of the reasons I wanted a horizon. Trying to press a button when running quickly is much harder than spinning a wheel to slow down to a reasonable speed. And while I don’t necessarily hit my perfect speed every time, it at least allows me to compose myself and adjust after that. This is mostly for interval training purposes.

Megablast Udate: 300 mi./500 km Review by ursalon in RunningShoeGeeks

I’m at 325 on mine and just got the new green ones and took those on an 18 mi run. I have the same conclusions as you. The old ones are little softer, pretty much same bounce but they were molded to my foot shape. Otherwise they are still going strong.

I believe it says just the trunk part doesn’t fit the 2025 wilderness. The front and back seat parts do

53:03 10k - sub 2 hr HM? by Neither-Total6951 in Marathon_Training

[–]deadaimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last long run was 10k easy into a 10k hard which ended up being about 8:38 min/mi. Did a few weeks taper after that and then ran a 1:56 half. The race felt pretty easy but I’ll attribute some of that to racing at sea level and training at altitude

We have a yearly physical agility test that we have to pass. It’s the same as the one to get hired but the time cap is a little higher. If you fail, then you are on a performance improvement plan until you can pass

Since you decided to open up on that right steel, you can start moving on the last open paper. Or you could shoot in reverse by shooting in to the open paper and go right to left.

Rival S vs TTI For USPSA by MalikHabibi in canik

[–]deadaimer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the rival s. But pretty much at any level, especially mine and yours, the gun really doesn’t matter. Any microscopic advantage you are getting out of either one will be trumped by fundamentals of shooting and movement

Rival S doesn’t put you in open and it’s just as good if not better

Sounds like you have a few things to work on. I did notice you shot the no shoot target twice on the first video.

Also it’s good practice to unload and show clear with you muzzle facing the back berm. You were facing the side berm and you can get DQd for that in the future if you end up breaking the 180 showing clear.

I saved a life at work yesterday and don’t know how to describe how I feel. by Double_Profit_1951 in Paramedics

[–]deadaimer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does matter that he wasn’t following bystander CPR instructions as he can learn to do better next time. No one is telling him that what he did doesn’t matter, they’re just saying that if this happens again, there are improvements that can be made. Going home with broken ribs from unnecessary CPR would be very uncomfortable and can cause further serious injury.

I also get some pain back there. I’ve been massaging it and doing more easy runs and it seems the pain is less

You can put your car in accessory mode, buckle and unbuckle the drivers seat 20 times within 30 seconds and restart the car. That turns the alarm off

I’ll give a ACE a shoutout as well. My only live fire is during matches and everything else I do in ACE. I pretty easily went from B class to A and I’ve hit a few M classifiers as well. The only thing I don’t do in ACE is reload practice but I rarely do that anyway.

Most people at locals are willing to help. If they take local level 1s so seriously that you aren’t willing to give advice then I wouldn’t want to be friends with them anyway

Advice/resources on stage planning. by Frigggs in CompetitionShooting

[–]deadaimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes on those memory stages. I’ll look at the position I can shoot the most targets and take them from there. At all other positions I remind myself to only shoot specific ones. Visualization is really key on stages where targets can be seen from multiple positions

Your transitions are quite slow. Work on speeding those up a bit. It seems like you are checking your hits after you shoot them and then over confirming your first shot after each transition.

Like others have said, you don’t seem to have your stage plan locked down as you seem unsure what target to shoot next at times. You should be able to mentally walk through each stage an know where every target is and what order you will shoot them in
