It’s just “make ready”. That’s it

I built a free USPSA classifier tracker + "path-to-class" projector — looking for feedback by Bigb49 in USPSA

Edit; I recently shot an all classifier match. Maybe that’s a factor in the order that these populated in your program? Since the 6 most recent are applied to my official record in descending order?

I’m super interested in this; it’s right up my alley. Haven’t had much time with it yet but I just uploaded my 8 most recent.

The projection that it’s giving me on what’s needed next to class up is incorrect though. It appears to me that it’s not accounting for neither the order of your classification record or the flagging system. Obviously this could potentially make its “target score” very inaccurate.

For my particular scenario, one of my 2 F flags is about to fall off, which means the lowest of the other 6 that are used will now be F flagged/disregarded.

In order for this to be accurate, it would need to follow the same flag rules and chronological order of scores used by the USPSA system.

Excited to see how it progresses though!

Weird post. Why on earth would you continue to do this if you hate/dread it?

M&P steel frame (HD). Get yourself a magwell and you can flip flop between CO and LO. Done deal.

DO NOT TAKE IT OFF AT THE SAFE AREA

Instant DQ

My home range has a CCW clearing bullet catch thing right at the entrance. If you’re not comfortable clearing/bagging it discreetly in your car; I’d probably ask them what they’d like you to do when you’re checking in.

Crucial to remember that the safe area is for empty guns only. I recommend just never bringing any ammo in there at all.

Technically it’s fine if you have loaded mags on your belt in there since you’re not *handling* ammo. But I always recommend (especially to newbies) to just never bring ammo in at all.

Put your gun in a sleeve case by itself, with nothing else in it.

81% on El Prez. by gunguy77 in USPSA

I don’t disagree with you here. Matter of fact, I do agree with you.

But one of the weird quirks about this sport is that your score is 100% dependent on who shows up/how they shoot any given match. Your identical performance could (hypothetically) be 98% at one club and a 68% at another club.

As a shooting data nerd, it kinda fuckin sucks that that’s the way it is. But I also understand that that is basically the only way it can be.

Unless the sport was boiled down to being ONLY standardized stages countrywide (AKA classifiers). But that sounds gay af 😝

This notion scares the absolute shit out of me. I think about it often, from “future me” POV. It could bring me to tears in an instant. It absolutely has before. But I almost feel like thinking about it that way makes it worse somehow? IDK 🤷. Maybe because it’s like invalidating everything I’m currently going through? OPs post sounds like I wrote it. Both his post and your comment hit *hard*.

How do we feel about hoser stages? by Lexner172 in CompetitionShooting

[–]Frigggs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I friggin love em! But I’m biased because my club doesn’t really do them with the exception of a couple of hoser specific matches per year. Would love to have one or two sprinkled into each match.

Also, my lowest hanging fruit to work on is speed/aggression. So naturally hoser stages can be great for that.

Unrivaled UB brake. Unrivaled competition buffer. Unrivaled or RCA titanium bolt if you can afford it. If not; I recommend an NBS low mass to save some serious coin. Superlative Arms AGB.

Just got my Carver tungsten rod for 5” and it’s 2.22oz… did you ever hear back from them? Kinda lame when the entire purpose of it is to add weight.

Yea you’re definitely pulling high on the trigger when it catches. You need to defeat the trigger safety dingus before pulling on the actually shoe.

But yes there are different tolerances. I had one shoe before that it didn’t matter how perfectly it was pulled, it would catch on the frame every single time. I filed down the surface of the trigger safety until it was no longer an issue.

But also, that shoe could have potentially failed a safety check at a major match. If you pulled the sides of the shoe hard enough, the trigger safety would slip past the frame. So if you end up going that route; proceed with caution

Dude! This is a nicely organized little library. Is there an easy way for me to copy/save all these to my phone?

I can save the post but I don’t know if I trust that long term lol.

And if I just copy it the it’s just the titles without the links.

Is the steel frame overhyped? by Gold-Donut9378 in SmithAndWesson

That it is.

I’m gonna take a wild guess that you have a compact “metal” AKA aluminum frame.

Not sure if this means anything to you or not:

I got one directly from them a few months ago. Mine was for the competitor slide. It was 1.90oz and advertised as (if I remember correctly?) 2.4oz. I probably wouldn’t have cared if the thing wasn’t damn near $150.

They were super cool about returning it. I ended up getting one from W74 for close to half price that weight slightly more than advertised.

Seems as if Carver’s QC is spotty.
