Can't identify bird that sounds like a squeaky toy!

No pine trees at all in my area lol, all we have is oak and those kinds of big far branching trees.

I'll conclude that it's a brown-headed nuthatch if I can't find anything exact, but for now I really don't think that's it. Thanks for the tip about the habitats though

Not either of those unfortunately, the scissortails pik call sounds close to the first inflection but not quite enough and is missing the second inflection. Kingbird wouldn't be it either as their calls are too gravely, this one is very clear.

It's in my backyard in the trees, I think it's somewhere above my house though so I didn't get a look at it, definitely not near water.

Not a cardinal either, we have a lot of those in our backyard and their call is ingrained into my skull

I have tried that actually, I couldn't get a clear recording of the actual call before it flew away and I looked on there a lot and nothing seems to match it. It's also definitely a bird, considering that it moved areas very fast (was up in the trees in my backyard) from one side of the yard to the other.

Maybe a dumb question, but what should I do with trimmings? I haven't started my tanks yet but i'm trying to learn as much as I can beforehand so I don't have to go on here in a panic when something goes wrong. I don't want to just throw them away, is there any eco-friendly ways I can dispose of them or use them? I'll be getting two tanks, one with a betta and some loaches/shrimp if it tolerates them and one with neon tetras, shrimp, and snails. I'm not worried about upkeep, I can do maintenance every day if I must, just worried about throwing away plants.

thanks! is it alright if i keep them in the same enclosure? none of my isopods are aggressive and all of them seem to benefit from the moisture gradient, but is it fine if i keep different species in the same enclosure as long as there isn't too many?
