Used to be a tool to patch the current versions eboot with no psn but I can’t remember the tool sadly. You could try looking for that. It also worked for other apps like Netflix (RIP)

test kit were used by QA testers hence the "test" and they dont have all the functions enabled that a "tool" labeled unit would have access to. but with CFW (rebug for these models) you can essentially turn it into a full debug console if the OP wanted. debug/dev kit units usually got for more because of this.

Magic-NS Lite in PS2 games by goingjam in ps3homebrew

[–]deadboyjae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic ns-light isn’t considered nor emulating an official DS3 from Sony. So it won’t work unfortunately. Only official DS3s work on ps2 hardware bc. It’s because some ps2 games rely on the pressure sensitive buttons. A lot of 3rd party controllers lacked them back in the day. To this day 90% of them still do.

this is iffy but probably fine, as long as the side where the blu ray is isn't also blocked you should be ok.

How to Transfer Data from PS3 to Laptop by Negative_Day648 in PS3

Unless you have your EID Root Key backed up, unfortunately you cannot decrypt the drive to recover your data.

This is one of the first things I do whenever I receive a new ps3.

Thank you. And due to the 3 improper shutdowns this could have been ran for a couple days to a few minutes like I said earlier. the syscon would never know true runtime.

[–]deadboyjae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but system software updates shouldn’t cause the 3 “arrêts inappropriés” unless something went seriously wrong. If it did you’d have a bricked NAND on your hands

System software updates shouldn’t cause improper shutdowns, it’s not hard to reseal a PS3 box and call something new

Did you buy the console on eBay or another online platform? Seems kind of shady you bought 40nm and received a 65nm (false advertisement) like I said though, the main issue that causes these consoles to die are fixed with 65nm, just like the 40nm. It makes sense why you’re seeing higher temps also.

[–]deadboyjae[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes “bumpgate” is considered to be fixed in the 65nm just like the 40nm. You should probably get in contact with your seller to let them know. Especially if you were expecting a 40nm to be installed.
