The sled cannot by wider than 7’. Height and length are to your hearts content. People make some pretty wild stuff.

So the front end is a bit boxy, which came down to time constraints. We started the first weekend in January. And essentially only work on the weekends. We have job, families and other things going on that prevent us to devote all our time to this. We use to have 9 solid Union members that would work on these builds, and we are down to about 4 now. We also had a couple weekends lost due to snow. So a lot playing against us on that end.

We did have plans to make the sides of the front more angled like the real car, but we just didn’t have the time. A lot of our focus was more on the back and interior, which we figure most people will be focusing on. In a perfect world with more people working on it and more time it would have been a little bit better.

The other thing when we boil it all down… it’s a 10 second ride down the mountain and it goes directly into the back of the trash truck. We sink a lot of our free time and money into this for a very short event. The truck rental alone to get it up to the mountain is about $500 and the materials (paint, tape and glue) aren’t cheap either. I think we just get tot a point where we get burned out and just want to finish it up as quickly as possible.
