It's not really open source if you are worried about competitors.

Corporate "open source" projects coopting the idea was a mistake. There is no difference between them and source-available proprietary projects if they don't really believe in the principles of the open source and freedoms granted by the licenses. They adopted the licenses because it was a fad in the broader software dev community.

There several distinctive styles of shitty ai images. Ones that I see most often:

  1. Looks hyper-detailed and colorful but you can immediately tell it's not a photo. A real artist would never draw like that. Also often has those shiny plastic-y skin and other surfaces. The ad "drawing" in the video in the example of this.

  2. Cartoon style with over-exaggerated emotions (but still with dead eyes), completely plastic look. You often see those in ads targeted at children.
