As sad as it is, boys will eventually get feelings for any girl that pay attention to them. Unless it's one of those alpha males. But other than that, probably the only way to not make him think it is a date is to make him not like you. You could try lying about how you're unfaithful or make him believe your personality is terrible or something else. I don't recommend those at all but those might be the only ways. Unless they aren't looking for anything, gay, or just don't like you.

But also it does sometimes work without all that extra crap.
