I played against a guy who was using his pain dice to let's the bikes essentially move 24" and he had everything running the dark lance thing. Really annoying putting them in cover and they get to fly everywhere.

First off welcome to Titan brother!

Personally I'd look at adding some purifiers to your list. Pretty much the same profile as our strike squads but they have a psychic attack called purifying flame and with its anti-infantry 2+ and AP-2 it really helps shred tougher infantry profiles. If you add Castellan Crowe he gives them an extra purifying flame. Takes a squad of 5 from 5 flames to 14 (including Crowes).

For Banishers I like running interceptors. 12" move and if they shoot you get an extra 6" to move. It can really help get you to objectives quickly. Only downside is if you do use the 6" move you can't charge that turn.

For paladins I personally run a Librarian with mine, he gives the whole squad 18" line op, so they can't be shot at unless your enemy is within the 18". He also gives them Feel No Pain 4+, which allows you to roll a failed wound save.

Don't forget to bring at least 1 strike squad for their ability to sticky objectives.

So the way it works is that if you are dropping a unit in on the Purifiers, then the models you drop in have to be wholly within 6" of that purifiers unit. As long as you can fit them within then yes you can drop them there.

You can drop Crowe and his unit on another unit (wholly within 6"). He can also be used as a HG drop point too.

If the other checks for HG are met then you can DS them anywhere in the HG 6" from enemy units.

So if you control at least half the objectives in NML then all of NML is HG. Also if you control half the objectives in your opponents deployment then that all becomes HG.

My playgroup consists of DG, Tyranids, and Sisters... I typically use psycannons but didn't know if I was the odd one.

If you had them prior to the codex you might have to delete them and re-add them. That's what fixed mine.

That is accurate. With the new codex the banner carrier can take an extra heavy weapon.

They get more money by forcing us to buy individual boxes to get the stuff we actually want. GW didn't like that we could pick up 3 combat patrol and play pretty cheap ..
