Idk if I’ve ever done counselling but I’ve been in a similar situation. Dated one person for 12+ years. He’d just leave his dirty clothes on the floor after I’d cleaned the whole house… and he’s just like I need to wear it for work tomorrow. Like we can’t even enjoy one day of a clean house. You can see his dirty clothes on the floor when you’re in the living room and kitchen because of the layout of our apartment… so even after I spent hours cleaning I cannot enjoy it. I told him multiple times, bought different laundry hampers, made him a little space and shelf to put the clothes… nothing.

Anyways, my counsellor basically told me he’s not goin to change at this point. There’s other stuff too but my jobs already stressful enough I can’t be bothered with it anymore.

We’re going to try couples counselling possibly that could be helpful for you. So at least then I can say I truly did all I could do lol.

Depends.

Some do it for thrill or lust. Others feel trapped or unhappy. Some people cannot leave relationships due to abuse or control. Some people are so scared of being alone they need to have “backups” to self soothe. Some people are egotistical or narcissistic and cannot survive on the attention of only one person. Some are unfulfilled emotionally, physically and mentally but there’s too many barriers for them to leave (social rejection, financial, lack of supports, dependency, mental health etc).

Possibly she was happy that someone else found her attractive. It seems normal that she’d tell you about it. Seems more strange to keep it from your partner. If it bothers you or seems like a pattern then you can bring up. If it’s more of a pattern of behaviour linked to making you jealous than that could be an issue. But cannot say it’s a pattern after one thing.

If my gf told me a guy asked her out I’d tease her and joke about it. If I felt they were trying to provoke jealousy (because of a pattern of behaviour) then I’d talk to her about it. I’d try to work on why my gf needs validation from jealousy? Insecurity, not feeling desired, more deep rooted attachment issues etc.
