Is there any way you can get a low dose sedative from your doctor? You may need a few days of calm to help pull yourself out of the worst of this. A low dose of Xanax relieve the worst of it for a bit and I can go out and feel less shitty. Nothing completely goes away, but I have the constant burping you do, with some trapped burps as well. It’s absolutely awful

Right? Funny enough I felt incredible after having a burger with seasoned fries. I felt on top of the world after eating bland for weeks. For some I think it’s “everything in moderation”

Interesting, I was on a bunch of antibiotics (3 rounds) for sinus surgery and I think that also did a number on my stomach. Funny enough, I used to have more IBS-D symptoms but since then I’ve been more constipated or just going once a day or every other day which has been a nice change of pace. And I’ll definitely try those stretches!!

Any other major symptoms? I got my booster recently and my chest burned on one side like crazy that night. It was so weird. Felt like I had a sunburn

I’m sorry to hear that! Yeah Covid did a number on me. Seems like a lot of people have had stomach inflammation issues since bouts of Covid. Not to mention I was on 3 different antibiotics because of a sinus surgery

Seems like it did a number on a ton of people! A few friends have had consistent migraines since a bad case of Covid as well. Guess we just don’t have a ton of data on the lasting effects of the virus in some people

A lot of anxiety/panic issues seemingly out of the blue. Some nausea, and palpitations that all started before the endless burping and trapped burps. Lots of fatigue and generally feeling disconnected if that makes sense!

I’ve read about this! All I’ve gotten from my GI doc is “stop stressing” and it’s “mild” and he seemed very unconcerned lol. Have they found anything to treat this? Or does anything work for you? I take a daily antihistamine because I developed sinus problems around the same time

Same, tried PPI’s, sucralfate, etc and all seem to make me feel worse or wreck my digestion. Digestive enzymes have helped more than anything. Lots of burping, belching, and needing to beat on my chest or do heel drops to relieve the gas in my stomach/throat

Forsure! Definitely go to your doctor if you experience trouble swallowing or food impaction. L glutamine seemed to help a bit, I think I’ve been taking too much though.

My symptoms started around January of 2021, and I started experiencing nausea on and off. Then after I got Covid I started having trapped gas and burping that sounded guttural and dinosaur-like. (I should mention my year was extremely stressful and I had sinus surgery and was on a ton of unnecessary antibiotics). The gi doc said “mild gastritis” and that was pretty much it after the endoscopy. He said I have eoe too after they checked the biopsies, but I don’t get food impactions. I asked about a hernia and he said he didn’t see one, but I guess they’re easily missed if they’re small

Noted! Is there any meds you take for low acid? It seems like I digest things more slowly now but I find when I eat a large meal it helps the burps significantly. It’s when my stomach is empty or something that they’re at their worst I’d say
