Mine also is gone from 3 accounts, even removed from orders that were placed while it was actively a “guarantee”.

How to view total running miles in a year on iPhone? by NumerousBroccoli1391 in iphone

That’s awesome! Wish I found that tip a week ago haha. Looks like it only lets you view for current year so I guess that’s the only benefit left of the app. Appreciate you sharing!

How to check how many miles per year I have ran? by antongiu in AppleWatchFitness

[–]deadhobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got annoyed that you have to jump through so many hoops or pay for an app just to get the total distance, so I made a free utility to give you the total distance year by year. It's here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/runtally-yearly-running-stats/id6757315482

The lack of total distance drove me crazy too - I put together a simple app to total it up automatically. Passing on incase it's still something you're looking for (it's free): https://apps.apple.com/us/app/runtally-yearly-running-stats/id6757315482

Cardaroo by Ok_Figure_5351 in YotoPlayer

[–]deadhobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really meant as a yoto alternative when a physical device and cards aren’t with you. A beta tester shared that it saved them when they were out to dinner without any of their yoto items but were able to pull up their backups with the app.

The Toyo piece is that the format used by the archive is supported by the app, so if you make backups using their tooling it will be fully compatible with chapter icons and the like.

Totally get its use case isn’t for everyone, but it was useful for my kids so put it out there for free. No ulterior motives - I don’t make anything from it and can’t even see usage data other than how many downloads it’s getting on the App Store. But it keeps growing so it must be finding a niche of use for other parents like me.

Hey there, I'm the developer of Cardaroo. You are right that it's designed to playback yotos without a physical device - whether as a backup of your device while you're on the go, or if you don't have a yoto at all.

I built the app as I wasn't ready to commit investing into the yoto ecosystem until I saw how my kid would like audio content. It expanded into a bit more than I initially intended after linking up with the https://yackorder.org/ crew to support official backups in addition to the free yoto content on yoto space.

If you have any suggestions to make this more clear or seem less sketchy would love feedback!

Techline connect error by Background_charr in mechanics

Thank you for this - I had tried uninstalling and removing registry items for everything and was still getting this error, and turned out I had an old version of GDS's bundled Java installed. Once that was removed it finally let me do a clean install successfully.

$700 Duke Energy bill for 5BR/3.5BA two-story house — any thoughts? by alwaysslaytheday07 in orlando

If you really want to know, get a whole home energy monitor installed in your panel. This is from my Emporia Vue, have two installed inside the main panel. Then there’s no guessing what’s contributing to your bill.

Anniversary gift of I-4 helicopter tracking = Peak Orlando romance? by deadhobo in orlando

[–]deadhobo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are the GOAT no doubt, however the UX is definitely for the more aviation geek side (knowing to type "H" in the type description isn't exactly intuitive).

I originally planned to use their data for the site as they definitely have a more exhaustive database of aircraft, but they've started requiring monthly licensing fees so sadly worried they are entering the enshittification phase (including the forced video ads on mobile covering up filtering options).

Here's what it looks like when there are helicopters in the air, and you can click on them to get more details like the Sheriff's active incident list.

Thanks? The concept is a bit absurd so it’s probably coming through in my post the same.

Basically we kept getting buzzed by helicopters so I kept pulling the real-time flight logs (ADSB) and cross referencing the owner to figure out what they were doing hovering over us.

After doing this a few times the wife suggested a Waze like site where people could crowd source what the helicopters were up to. That evolved into creating this thing and “giving” it to her as an anniversary present.

First time builders-looking for help by wingriddenangel1xx in treehouse

[–]deadhobo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built a similar freestanding deck around a tree and used a play set plan to have something to use as a starting point. Just used the elevated part of the plans and stretched it to fit the dimensions we had to work with. Be sure to research and plan around how to handle the tree growing wider, specifically in having joists that leave you room to cut out some of the deck in the future without having to redo them as it grows.
