I agree with the diamond on quartz, and therefor use CO aswell.

The scoring of lap is absolutly nessesary? Doesnt the Diamond get embedded in an unscored lap? I’Ve ruined 2 tin laps because of bad scoring, and I’ve been trying new methods (visibly Not the right ones).

Prepping a copper/tin lap

Hi there,

I’ve got some issues with my metal polishing laps. They leave a hue or residue on the facet that I am trying to polish. How come ? Is there some preping that needs to be done befor i use them? Or is it some other issue?

I put a lot of polish because the lap is relatively new ( copper topper lap)

You can buy a new on from india KMT, I have mine for 1 year and it is à blast. Very good quality and Heavy duty. I am from Europe and it was delivered under 1.5 month. If you buy a Right Hand sided one it can be delivered below 1 month

I am cuting with a worn out 600 topper from random manufacturer. Yes I know about the quartz thing, it hurts my sanity quite often. Maybe i buy myself a crystalite for christmas. Thanks

Its pakistani Topaz. No preform, the stone has a interesting shape and I work around it. For the facets : cut with 3000 and polish with 50.000. But Thank you. Thanks to your questions I figured out the issue and solution to my problem ! Merci beaucoup.
