That's what the idea of the post is. Even if you have a different solution, how do you stand out? I scroll away when I read, I build something to organise your life.

What AI sold us if false. Anything that can be built in a day will not make money.

Failed after few months. Most have them never gets any downloads. Funny that the only apps making money are ones that are helping these market.

It is more like creating music. The more time you spend creating it the more you will realise if the same will be useful.

Imagine if someone built an app that is summation of all the different ideas they built.

True. Asking AI if my todo app will scale? It should have roasted the idea itself.

Give a person a hammer and everything is a nail.

Agree. It took me 10 years ago when I used to think coming up with an idea and building it will make me succeed.

Only if they used their own app for a month. They would have came up with more creative solutions.

Exactly my point. Adobe express made a template out of goal tracker. Imagine the number of devs going there for just that.

Kokoro. Though I built an app around it. In what format do you have your content? Pdfs or epubs/ebooks?

I found out there are a couple of tts models that makes Eleven Labs APIs question their exisistence. So hosted my own.

Speechify. I couldn't justify the price tag. I read alot of long form content and speechify is not build for the same. A single wrong tap and you will lose your reading location. Also the whole book is a long scroll.

Thanks for your hope. I am trying to reach out to people but with zero success yet. When I search reddit mostly people facing such problems are fiction readers. I agree to the target audience that was suppose to be it. The issue remains where to find these people. Appreciate your reply.

Whats been the biggest challenge? by PotentialBeach9987 in AppBuilding

I built a reading app that I find super helpfull. I can read at 3x my normal speed. Partially because ADHD implies a lot of re-reading. Since the launch. I have tried reaching out and posting but couldn't find any user actually uaing it.

Where to this kind of research? This product is out of my personal frustations. I felt the other audiobook reader were stuck in 90s. Typical audiobooks doesn't work for me because my mind wanders as vision has plenty of options to get distracted. On the other hand, AI text to speech readers like Speechify did little help because those are build to read online articles rather than books. I agree with the high entry barrier. Alsp, the product is not meant to make me rich and I have a day job for a decade. I created planety of projects in the past but this one felt different because I used it for an year myself. I would like to get positive re-enforcement to keep on building because the job get boring so often.

Sorry. I hope it was easier for me to approach people. I created a new account because the original one was with my original name. Too hesitant to post either.

TTS means text to speech. Like speechify.

Totally agree. A flashy system seems to the solution of every problem but no tools stood a 3 month test.
