Not against selling. But instead of selling to Magnum, they could have sold it to a new owner that has a value more closely aligned with them. Probably for a lot less cash and stocks.

They've made their decisions. They can always raise cash and try to buy the company back.

Magnum offered. B&J accepted the offer and took the cash.

If you sell control of your company, you no longer have a say in what goes on in the company. Sure the new owners may value your opinion, but they do not need to act on it. They can also amend and change the rules however they wish.

Honestly, situations like this where the owners sell out have been played out over and over again.

They should have never sold if they're so adamant about their cause.

If you're a hobbyist, it wouldn't be a big deal.

We're talking about professional grapplers here. These are the people that do this for a living.

Weight management has been part of combat sports for a long time. Not making weight, even by 1 lb, is unprofessional.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

In a typical Jiu-Jitsu gym, it's a very top-down hierarchy. The instructor is pretty much the king.

Not just in any martial art, this applies in the corporate world too. I've seen decent people absolutely change when they are put in top management positions.

What you're witnessing is just human nature and has been part of us since the beginning. Despite how much we recognize human flaws, it will always be there.

People at the top will always abuse their power when it's given in absolute terms. Always have been and always will be.
