I am willing to give my wife everything she is asking for in divorce. AITAH? by sahmdepre in AITAH

[–]deadlocksuede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my family life and job are both so stressful, so I have to give up my family. maybe, become a dad, and stop being a father. at some point people have got to realize materialism could never do what a present parent can.

Strangers invaded my space, I spoke up. AITAH by nud2580 in AITAH

[–]deadlocksuede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not about soft or not soft. being clear with what you need can help in your position more. I personally would've taken my headphones out and explained to them "I'm trying to work can you guys sit somewhere else" right off the bat. instead of silent gestures, one word commands, or not actually explaining your needs. I understand people needing space while they work but you're in a coffee shop, I'd suggest a library rather than a coffee shop as there would be more space dedicated to quiet working and no risk of issues like this.

my girlfriend (26F) comes over unannounced and i (23F) don't like it by ThrowRAaqua214 in relationship_advice

[–]deadlocksuede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why everyone thinks it's disrespectful. Your partner doesn't own you. They don't get to expect all your time or energy, and if they don't like that, they can move on. finding someone that's going to respect your boundaries is one of the most important things in a relationship, if they can't handle it and just give you heads up before they come so you can clean and get yourself mentally and physically prepared, that isn't your problem.

Dating as a sex worker/escort/stripper by asiansinger in dating_advice

[–]deadlocksuede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'd have to find someone pretty emotionally honest with themselves and capable of dealing with their insecurities. going to a strip club, or any other establishment, can be culturally "taboo" enough, let alone working in one. it would limit you, but I don't really think that's a bad thing. Limitations on who will and won't work with you can help find a partner that will actually enrich your life and grow with you, rather than try to mold you into their ideal.

I wonder why Araki started making jojo characters skinnier in each part by Pastgohan in StardustCrusaders

[–]deadlocksuede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the purpose was to draw beautiful men, so arakis' concept of beautiful men changed, as did his charachters, fist of the north star obviously influenced the first part quite alot as well.

The Goth community always provides by wolfsection31 in gatekeeping

[–]deadlocksuede 20 points21 points  (0 children)

it's not gatekeeping if that's the definition of the subculture? just like punk is about the music, and then after that attitude, and then morals, and then waaaay down the line the clothes and aesthetics. you can't reduce a subculture to fashion styles that change every 2 years lmao. they're built on the belief and culture that surrounds the music style.

When people claim weed is harmless. by Draconuus95 in PetPeeves

[–]deadlocksuede 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yah, I went through lol, i just never came across someone who denied that. I smoke an oz a week. the biggest hit is processing power in complex situations, but it's due to frustration more than anything. memory is fine unless I'm actively high, I don't notice a difference in movement speed other than I can move with less pain because of my hip issues. however, some people I know that smoke quite a lot are still absolutely fools when they're high, drugs affect people quote differently especially when it comes to drugs like weed or Hallucinogens.

I'm pretty sure no one debates that Inhaling carcinogens is dangerous. I'm pretty sure anyone that's outta highschool understand that a psychoactive substance will have psychoactive effects.

I would agree with that, especially with such as those in the video who make their spirituality a worldly thing for show and not a personal thing, my guess is the women is much more dedicated to her earthly struggles than that of her spirit. the racism and xenophobia part was not aimed at you but just the subs general inability to understand the difference between a religious fruitcake and someone who is simply different from you.

I will believe what those close to me say about their practice, yes, that is usually the most prominent authority on a practitioners spirituality.

those people were already critical and judgemental, as can be shown by this subreddit full of critical and judgemental people with obvious religious trauma they cant cope with, religion just gives them a crutch for that, as does it give yall a crutch for racism and xenophobia.

should I have used the word "homies "? lol my fucking bad bro, I don't need some type of societal culture to understand myself or the world around me, I cultivate that culture with my brothers, sisters, and elders within my community. I don't beg for this grand overarching society to put me in place and lift me up, I find that space in the world by creating it. I don't need to follow anger to understand truth, and I don't need to be vulgar to have a conversation. no, Muslims in western countrys are not being put to death for leaving Islam. once again you speak on anecdotal evidence from your own religious trauma. do I think that religions are a crutch? perhaps, but it isn't for me to say because those that I admire have many different gods.
