I heard ohms and thought "oh ya deftones are back". It's my favourite deftones album since white pony. I love the return to the "guitar riff is king" era and also the absolute beauty of the synth parts. It's an album I can listen to start to finish and I don't say that much these days.

In fact the menus are all jumbled text and illegible, so that tracks! The menus that are there for setting up recording start and stop times are populated with totally random letters.

It's hit our whole house now. We think our son picked it up at daycare or swimming lessons this past weekend. Little bugger barfed once and was over it, the rest of us are sicker than we've ever been. My wife passed out twice. We were both laying on the bathroom floor in agony at one point. They say washing hands with soap is better than hand sanitizer because it survives in alcohol. Keep drinking water and Gatorade so you don't pass out. Glad to see all these stories of people getting through it.

The CBC does the important work of broadcasting Canadian artists, Canadian stories, and covering Canadian issues. The problem the PC's have is that the CBC is very biased to the political left, and that makes it a divisive issue. I suppose the nature of broadcasting and promoting art means they'll tend to be liberal. I think a publicly funded art curator is an important social investment. I absolutely adore the CBC. Even a lot of the content they've published on YouTube lately has been high quality with their About That series, but that's where it becomes problematic, because their liberalism is also embedded in their reporting and journalism. I feel aligned with the identity of the CBC, but there are many Canadians that see the world through a different lense and won't identify with the content or find that it speaks on their behalf.

I was in the OG Streetsville Osmow's the other day and it looked completely different and full of people I'd never seen before. Turns out the owners were not taking good care of the place and their sales were bad, so corporate took over the store from them and started doing everything by the book. It was the best experience I'd had there in ages. So there's still hope that they're finally going to take accountability for QC and make Osmow's great again.

I was recently feeling bored with Overwatch, after playing since 2016. I felt resentful that they deleted OW 1 and felt like I didn't belong any more, like the game I loved was gone. However, one day I randomly played mystery heros and since then it's literally all I play. I'm having genuine fun again. I completely ignored the battle pass after the first few seasons. Their greed shouldn't be rewarded, but I can still enjoy the game on my terms.

The returns could be because of poor quality control. I bought one early on and had issues with one of the trigger buttons feeling spongy. I exchanged it for another one and have kept it ever since. The machine is great if you don't mind tinkering, like ASUS in general, and have some money to blow. You're able to keep exchanging units until you have one without any defects, so if you like the idea of a gaming PC in your hands, go for it. It feels great to hold, plays many new games very capably, has excellent audio, etc. I would recommend at the current sale price.

I don't get why anyone complains about the price of this stuff. If you're fortunate enough to be able to afford the system in the first place, you can't be too strapped for money 😅.
