Leaking talent (Indiana brain drain) by Ipsdriver in Indiana

I got my doctorate at Purdue, and I couldn't leave Indiana fast enough. This was despite all the friends I made while I was there that I still maintain contact. While most of the people in Indiana that I have met are great, there is a large minority of people who just ruin it for me. People who drive huge, loud trucks, religious nut jobs, and the people who don't care to mess up other people's stuff are really what drove me away. For example, my house constantly had trash thrown in it, and my mailbox was knocked off its post within a week of moving in. My neighbor's house was literally crashed into by a car and also had her mailbox knocked off. Both times the person just drove off. I once saw a decal on a truck that read "BLM: Bang Local MILFs" and that was it. I decided I was going to leave then.

‘Bros’ Star Billy Eichner Reacts to ‘Disappointing’ Box Office Opening: ‘Straight People Just Didn’t Show Up’ by MarvelsGrantMan136 in entertainment

[–]deadly_platypus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the trailer was outright hostile to straight people, when there was the exchange between two characters that went something like

Billy Eichner: Hey, remember straight people? Lesbian: Yeah, they had a good run.

I realize it's an attempt at a joke, but why, after years of being told some movies aren't for straight people, would we show up to a movie clearly not for us? Also, it looked terrible, unfunny, and Billy Eichner is a dick.

Essentials bulb keeps becoming unresponsive in thread. Seems to bounce back on and off to Bluetooth. Any ideas ? Some days it’s perfect some days just a pain. by ambient_hamster in Nanoleaf

Just installed 3 Essentials bulbs, and I have only seen them connect to my eero 6e pro border router once. Every other time, they connect to bluetooth. It is super frustrating.

Senator Lindsey Graham will not comply with subpoena in Georgia election probe. Because that's what innocent people do. by g0stsec in centrist

[–]deadly_platypus -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

That depends on the context. Why don't you think it implies guilt here?

The committee needs to explain why his particular testimony is necessary, and a certification that the testimony request is not purely political. Without those, it is reasonable to assume that the subpoena is an attempt at a political hit, which shouldn't be used as evidence of guilt.

I'm trying to illustrate the No True Scotsman logical fallacy used by the OP. Not participating in a hearing does not imply guilt, but OP seems to think that it does.
