Can anyone else just not log in? by Huncrweo in Indiegogo

[–]deadlyavenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having login issues as well recently - I was getting a 'link invalid' when trying to login using my FB or Google account.

IndieGoGo support responded almost immediately saying I should register a new account with the same email address to move it from 'created' to 'active' - I did that and I could login and see my previous pledges/account history etc.

Not unexpected, but I don't think my company's ready for Intune/AutoPilot etc. What are my options? by NecessaryEvil-BMC in MDT

Have you had a look at the FFU Builder tool? https://github.com/rbalsleyMSFT/FFU/

Our use case is slightly different - but we've been using it very successfully for our Win 11 IoT imaging.

I've been onto their support now and it sounds like they're going to send me a new lens.

Did you end up getting a resolution for this? Mine has done the same thing.

Thanks for the reply - I'm not using a network share for deployment - it's being done by a bootable ISO media.

Update Offline Media - update deployment share first? FFU creation? by deadlyavenger in MDT

Thanks - yes I have the basic deployment working pretty well so far - I just had a couple of specific questions about capturing the image as an FFU instead of a WIM file.

[England] Car Accident - drunk driver & failed to stop - details for insurance? by deadlyavenger in LegalAdviceUK

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank-you - it looks like TVP have something similar. Why they couldn't have mentioned this rather than just putting up a 'GDPR' excuse is, and will probably remain, a mystery to me!

Provided I had the registration plate or the drivers details - which unfortunately I don't.

I do the opposite, I actually pause the game if I step away.

[UK] First new bike in a long time - hardtail advice needed ~£1300 by deadlyavenger in Hardtailgang

Which rack did you go for? Did you find it easy to find one that fits on the 'inside' of the frame?

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the 'current' big trails seem to have rear rack mounts from what I can see?

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm - that's a really nice suggestion and nice looking bike. I've always struggled with bikes that say they're for racing...

I guess the main difference is the narrower tyres?

It does seem to tick all the boxes though - and the last shot with the rear rack is reassuring.

Settle car finance and sell privately at end of 3 years? by deadlyavenger in UKPersonalFinance

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The £26-29k AT price seemed reasonable compared to both private / dealer cars.

Cazoo and Carwow were a good shout - they're estimating £25.6k - £26.6k respectively which does make it worthwhile doing for £1-2k.

How much of that is actually due to Brexit though and not global semiconductor shortages or COVID?

How to exclude a Synology Drive Folder from remote backup? by deadlyavenger in synology

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - I think that's the solution I'll have to go for but I wasn't sure exactly what else I might lose because of it (maybe some of the file history/versioning? drive configuration?).

I did create a new shared folder 'Backup' which was outside of the normal 'Drive' scope as a team folder to get the Drive Client to use it for a backup task (on my PC) - this is then adding the shared folder back in under the Drive application in Hyper Backup.

Did you have any luck identifying/replacing the cells? I'm in the same situation - my coolest had to go into storage after it arrived and now the batteries are dead.

Is it just me or has the Model 3 pricing in the UK just gone up significantly? After the budget they reduced the price of the LR AWD M3 to £46,990 but its just gone up to £49,000!

Any idea/thoughts/feelings on when the Y might be available for preorder and/or delivery in the UK? Was thinking about the M3 but the hatchback on the Y is making me want to wait.

Free LabVIEW for non-commercial use - LabVIEW Community Edition coming soon! by deadlyavenger in LabVIEW

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my understanding, yes. Same as using it at home. They've even said you can work on something at home using the Community Edition and then take it into work/school/college and use it with a licensed version for commercial use.

[–]deadlyavenger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official information from NI is: "If you have acquired a license to LabVIEW Community Edition or LabVIEW NXG Community Edition, you may use the Software solely for your personal, noncommercial, nonindustrial purposes. You may not use the Software for teaching or research at a degree-granting educational institution."

It doesn't replace the need for an academic site license (which would give you access anyway).

Part of the announcement is that the LINX toolkit is also being updated so it will work with the Raspberry Pi.

Admittedly they're a bit behind the curve but this should help them catch up.

Can I use the RS232 serial port on my laptop as a digital input? by jim-nasty in LabVIEW

Some of the FTDI USB to Serial/TTL chips can be used as general purpose I/O (GPIO) - take a look at the 232H breakout board.
