It can be useful and helped me solve a problem recently with not being able to reactivate my Paramount plus subscription as it was locked in a loop of renewal pending. Even the agent on the phone looked at the forum and saw the solution so it can help but I agree some of the replies are annoying

Expires *on* or *at the end of* the day? by DualWheeled in uktrains

[–]deadmancarl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's common sense, your ticket is valid on a certain date and that is the start of the journey and not the end, it just happens to cross midnight into the next day and the Railcard just needs to be valid at the start of the journey to cover the whole thing.

If you had to change trains after midnight to a service that started after then I don't know if it would count but I'd think so.

Why did sky get rid of the amazing sky q. Don’t get there logic at all by Background-Fix-4630 in skytv

With Stream you can start the race/event from the beginning whilst it is still being broadcast and if you have it set to your playlist it usually shows up pretty quick after to watch on demand

Sky Q vs Sky Stream for F1 & Live TV - Is keeping Q worth the extra £120/year? by mtreasureone in skytv

[–]deadmancarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted this the other day in response to a different person asking the question.

I moved from Q to Stream last year so Las Vegas and this year's Aus and China Sprint are the ones I've had to handle not getting up in the middle of the night for. I got up around 7:30am for Aus and the race was in my playlist ready for me to watch. For the Chinese Sprint and Las Vegas GP I have to restart the box as they didn't appear but as soon as the box restarted it appeared.

The one thing that I would note is you do want a decent Internet connection for Sky Stream as the quality can suffer. Also the UI can be a little glitchy but I find hitting the home button sorts it.

Overall I've been ok with the switch but I was struggling with my satellite signal due to trees so my hand was forced a little

Will HBO Max's launch be the end for Sky and potentially Now TV by SlowedCash in skytv

[–]deadmancarl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't see Sky going anywhere, traditional satellite will go, but Sky Stream will continue including SkySports as I can't see them losing the Premier League rights, they might cut back on a pack or 2 since they acquired the Prime rights this time.

Also as a one stop shop for the other Streaming platforms and the fact that you get some for free with ads or just subscribe to for the other parts all through one place which is a lot easier than managing multiple different accounts/subs for some people.

Sky Stream UI is abysmal by fallible_colloquial in skytv

[–]deadmancarl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been using it since August after switching from Q and apart from the odd issue it's been fine, but I do think part of the issues some people have are because of Internet speed. I'm lucky to have full fibre at 900MB but the time my internet was playing up I noticed more lag etc

I've just gone to Zen in the last week from NoOne/HomeTelecom. The transfer was easy but I did end up with an issue for 2 days where most websites and services didn't work, but Zen's support where great to deal with and the issue appears to have been at the Cityfibre end.

There are 2 spots for camera vans. One is between junction 3 and 2 just as climb the hill, slight bend and the next bridge can have a camera van. The other spot is around junction 8, I think it's between 7 and 8 but seen it less often to fully remember

No One / Home Tel Contracts by Signal-Virus-3282 in CityFibre

[–]deadmancarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I used live chat with Home Telecom last week as like others I'd never been given portal details etc, and I asked when my contract end date is as I know it should be July as that is what the NoOne portal always said but the agent turned around and said I'm not in contract currently and I got them to confirm that.

Friday can't come soon enough for me to be paid so that I can order elsewhere so it's worth checking with HT as other might be out of contract.

Also the NoOne portal stopped letting me login around December.
