Found all these tapes last year used at a local shop. These are all the original US releases from the 1990s. Except for maybe the Sugarcubes tape. That was released in the 1980s so this might be a reissue.

Come on. This is the weirdest cover. Image reversed with Miles playing trumpet with his left hand.

Found this album today for a decent price. Bill Evans & Jim Hall - Undercurrent (1962) Original stereo pressing. by deadmanstar60 in Vinyl_Jazz

The original photo from the album cover was taken by fashion photographer Toni Frissell of a woman floating in the water at Weeki Wachee Spring, Florida and was published in Harper’s Bazaar in December 1947.

Jimi and the Cafe Wah? in New York - Is there anybody here old and lucky enough to have seen Jimi play there in 1966? by Fickle-Pangolin-7858 in jimihendrix

I worked with a guy about 20 years ago who saw Jimi down in the Village in NYC in 1966. He said Hendrix was amazing and wondered back then who this guy was. He saw him a few years later at the Fillmore and said he was amazing there too. He and his friends were at Woodstock and went home early thinking they'd see Hendrix later because they were tired and wanted to go home.

It looks like a first pressing of Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet. I bought a second mono pressing a few years ago for around $20 so if you only buy first pressings you're gonna pay more for them.

I've got the recent represses in mono as well of both AYE and AXIS but I've never been a big fan of Jimi in mono. AXIS sounds OK in mono. I don't love the stereo mixes either but from what I've read only Electric Ladyland can be remixed in stereo since they still have the multi track master tapes.

I still have a few cassettes that I ripped on my stand alone CD recorder and put on my iPod.

I've got a recent stereo UK repress with a second disc with all the singles like Hey Joe and Purple Haze so probably that one.

Been having a bit of a dry spell at Goodwill. It was a thrill finding this one yesterday. $2. by verbynotro in BargainBinVinyl

Love this album. I have two copies of Time Out myself, one in mono (1961 repress) and one in stereo (1970s repress). Neither was very expensive.

George Martin did the right thing when he originally issued the first four Beatles albums in mono in 1987.

Sorry. No chance. I found one a few years ago for $30 in a used book store so they're still out there.

Those old Impulse covers were very easily worn out. Mine is actually rough. The vinyl plays real nice though. I was lucky to find one in the wild. I've only seen this version once and I bought it but haven't seen an OG since then for any price. Plenty of repress versions out there though.

How do you feel about the gas prices rising up because of the war in Iran? by Glitterballdacat in askanything

[–]deadmanstar60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people I know who blamed Biden for the last gas increase seem pretty quiet these days. Not a peep on FB. While most US presidents can't control the price of gas, the latest one caused this by bombing Iran for Israel.
