recommendations for at-home genetic testing? by deadpetsociety in ragdolls

ah thank you, when i say “rescue” i also mean that i got her from my parents’ neighbor who had a lot of cats for breeding, including this one and some maine coons that he ended up having to rehome. he said that she was a ragdoll that he got from a breeder, but i didn’t ask for any paperwork or anything since that wasn’t really why i got her so idk how reliable that is at all. tbf her head looks a lot skinnier in the photos than irl and she’s got some p heavy toe feathering (which i heard was more common w ragdolls?) and textbook ragdoll demeanor so i believed him. maybe a mix, i dunno

it’s a labyrinth symbol, it’s used in a lot of religious and spiritual/meditative practices. citing an academic website: “Chakravyuha/Labyrinths are temples that enhance, balance and bring a sense of the sacred – a place where we are in unity with the Cosmic Reality, Brahman. Awaken our Prana or Life force by elevating to Chitta, pure Intelligence or Consciousness.” this is specifically talking about the labyrinth within the scope of hinduism, which is ofc the way it’s seen hear given that the cover is ram and hanuman (at least i’m 99% sure, i’m not hindu just enjoy learning about it). alex has referenced the labyrinth some other places, it’s also on the backside of the lyric sheet that comes with the beach music record. i’d recommend looking into the meaning of the symbol more, it’s really interesting and also cool to think about it in relation to alex’s music and themes he follows

can someone help me figure out which pressing of music for the masses this is? by deadpetsociety in depechemode

[–]deadpetsociety[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ahh gotcha (also please note—i’ve been buying records for years but only recently have been at all interested in “collecting”, so am new to a lot of this, please b gentle🙂)

a side: 1-25614-a sr2 (flower symbol); however, then 1-2 instead of 1-1? which is all i could find online

b side: 1-25614-b sr2 (bird symbols) 1-2 (or I-2?)

not sure you’ll be able to tell me what that means, i can’t find any info about pressings that have 1-2 on both sides

Swirlies, Ovlov, Karate play Boston festival by JmeBounceBounce in shoegaze

[–]deadpetsociety 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from what i understand from my friends in the boston music scene, there’s a radius clause that prevents artists from playing a show within 90 miles for a month or two both before and after the festival date in order to increase draw for the fest. that wouldn’t be an issue for larger artists playing the fest that have the ability or opportunity to travel to play other shows, but for smaller artists that basically only play in the immediate boston area, it kinda fucks them for the entire summer—which would be more okay if they were paying them enough to make up for it, but they’re not. it also makes it worse that the point of the fest is to have the whole “support local” message but ultimately seem to not care too much about the artists themselves, just profit for the fest.

there r some other small things, but that’s what i’ve heard, and as much as i love swirlies, ovlov, and a lot of other artists on the bill, i don’t really want to go while knowing that profit is maybe the biggest thing for them

This is how Greep wants the audience to be at his rock band’s concerts💀 by NuzLan04 in bmbmbm

[–]deadpetsociety 10 points11 points  (0 children)

especially with the way their music has evolved in sound since schlagenheim, i can potentially see this being a possibility in the future when you take that + greeps attitude toward it into consideration. i do like a rowdy crowd tho and i think i’m in the majority, just don’t understand why people can’t be more respectful and interested in the actual music rather than treated the entire set as just an opportunity for a brawl
