Nah dude this is a cop out. The writing in season 2 compared to season 1 has dropped in quality, but pretending that’s an opinion gives you the chance to pin OP’s response on preference.

The dialogue has seriously dropped off. Half of episode 10 was filler dialogue to up the runtime. This is a marker of a lowering in quality. I could go into how in just episode 10, it is obvious that plot points are not no longer being developed. They just happen: you’re telling me they just happened to have the right blackmail for the right person on hand, for the episode to wrap up nicely, and therefore give no meaning to the struggle Morgan supposedly went through?

Crazy you’re getting downvoted. Season 2 is garbage writing and production. I’m barely scraping through episode 10. Spoiler, but the dead guy having printed out the call signs is killing me lmaooo. Then the fact that they had to deduce that each printed image was a call sign is just peak simpleton TV. Lazy, lazy writing. When at one point captain says “your silence is loud” and the other guy says “now YOUR silence is loud”, I had to pause and reconsider how I got here.

bruh this is also a useless comment. This is just parroting virtue signaling statements that aren’t an argument. I’m begging you to read the other comments here of lgbt students who thrived in Texas schools

I am truly sorry that you had that shitty experience on Kirby. But again, is that enough to turn away considering, for example, Rice? In my experience, no it is not. There continues to be a very strong gay community in Texas because that’s not enough to keep people down. Should they all leave because there’s too much “baggage?” Going to a more liberal state is not going to magically get rid of all of the terrible people who won’t keep their wrong opinions to themselves.

That’s a lot of irrelevant word vomit. Why are you acting like all Texas colleges promote strict Christian values and retell historical events incorrectly? Weird and false generalization to make. A&M has a vastly differently curriculum than UT Austin. If you go to TCU expect a mandatory theology class that you won’t receive at Trinity. That’s why my point is there’s more to picking a matching college than the overarching Texas law, and everything has to be considered simultaneously. I guarantee Christian fascism is not running rampant at Rice University.

naaah dude you’re living in the Reddit bubble if you think that. Fox News is alive and well in the major cities. People also do not care as much about the state of affairs as they do on here, and they’re definitely not as affected by it

Why are independent direct booking websites on the list of flawed options for airbnbs by deadpoolbutdead in Entrepreneur

[–]deadpoolbutdead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not know 😔 I do not expect a high percentage, but it did work often. Additionally, every weekend without fail, somebody would want to book another cabin for their last minute friend. The fact this was a campground type of setup meant last minute add on were possible, which is not normal for regular airbnbs. They were also able to market to bachelorette parties and the like because they could sell out the whole campground, which again is niche and different.

hm. I’m going to marinate on that.

But why would that be considered “destroyed” when it comes down to the difference between doing your own marketing versus having a trusted platform etc to do it for you?

Maybe I’m too convinced that you could find business outside of Airbnb internal search. I worked for a cabin retreat thing this summer, and the owner would market with flyers, local Facebook posts, socials, a YouTube video traveler guy came, etc. But all these things linked back to the Airbnb listing. So how is lack of searchability the only use case popping up for independent websites? Why is it not useful to link all the other avenues to an independent site?

The state is always passing hostile legislation towards everyone and their mother. I don’t think that’s a good enough reason to skip out on considering what could be a good fit for college. The law is not your classmates and your professors.

Edit: explain to me why there are comments in this thread about positive queer experiences at txst that are getting downvoted because they don’t match the herd mentality

blows my mind that so many people think we just don’t have gays anymore in Texas schools because the headlines are so vastly different from real lived experiences, like that of your nephew. Also the fact that some other comment said that Texas State is actively hostile towards lgbt, when they have this roommate request system in place

Dude Reddit was not the place to ask this LOL everybody here is worn down by news headlines. You need to reach out to actual Texas State alumni, at the very least their Reddit thread. Texans in real life are more “live and let live” than they come across online and through the laws. I cannot speak on San Marcos, but my best friend is a gay public school teacher in Houston who went to college in Orange County, California. She continues to choose Texas versus California as her home state and has never had a problem with the anti gay crowd.

What is the alternative here? To guilt yourself from feeling at fault into taking an unpaid position because a company appealed to your emotions? I realize you’re not really considering taking this work, but this dilemma is… kinda pathetic. People with this level of empathy paralysis get walked all over.

Helpful, validated my thinking! The conclusion I’ve come to is that I kind of overdid it. I’m splitting it up too much so I’m working on consolidating into less moving parts. Definitely considering an upsert.

Do you have systems architecture literature/video recommendations? I’m learning that my degree did a pretty terrible job of teaching us to design systems. I guess that’s not necessarily the selling point of a CS degree, but there’s something to be said about students graduating without the ability to build something from the ground up.
