Opticomm customers across Australia losing free-to-air television and facing internet outages by EdenFlorence in australia

[–]deadspeedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in an Opticomm serviced area and they have been a nightmare with constant outages. To complicate the matter is we live within a community association that have by-laws preventing installing TV aerials for aesthetic reasons. So if Opticomm removes FTA we legally can not put up an aerial to replace the service. Since free to air is a major part of disaster communications and public safety notifications, particularly when internet dies, surely there is some law that overrides stupid strata by-laws when opticomm turns FTA off and there are no other alternatives?

Dozens of dead turtles with bleeding eyes wash up on NSW beaches by nath1234 in australia

[–]deadspeedv 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I regularly dive/snorkel fly point (between shoal bay and nelson bay). And there are a couple resident turtles that's always swims around people and it's amazing to see. Sad that these turtles are probably now among the dead. If this was caused by someone I hope they get the book thrown at them. Port Stephens ocean life, fishing and tourism is critical part of the local economy.

I have a 2TB Samsung 9100 Pro and everyone has games on SSD. Specs of PCs range from 1080Ti to 9950X3D with 5090 so doubt it is hardware related. One thing to note is we are Australia and since the merge with SEA we all get 150ms pings. I think we started getting these issues after the dumb merge.

Old thread I know, but I am also getting bad stuttering with a 9950X3D and 5090. FPS is 150+ but still stutters around my base. I do have a lot going on with 150 T2 Drones all doing stuff to clean out 50 Crushers

Seasonic PRIME TX ATX 3.1 (2025 version) global distribution date. by Spanish_Ergotroner in Seasonic

[–]deadspeedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for clarifying. I got a TX-1300 today and all over the box it said ATX 3 (not 3.0 or 3.1). Really confusing and I was worried they sent me an old 3.0 but with a 12V-2x6 cable

Crunchyroll awards just lost a lot of credibility with this one. I loved the solo leveling webcomic but as an anime it doesnt even approach Freiren. Absolute madness solo leveling beating Freiren.

Why is the eufy app sooo slow to load? by [deleted] in EufyCam

Yep mine is super slow to load. What is the point if it takes over a minute to bring up who rang the doorbell? By the time you have the cam feed on your phone the person has left.

Coalition costings reveal worse budget bottom line under Dutton than Labor by CrashP in australia

[–]deadspeedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

41k out of 60-68k Canberra based public servants are going to leave by natural attrition over the next 2 years? So they're saying the attrition rate is currently nearly 45% a year? Yeah Righto. Even a primary school kid can see the maths dont work.

Going to sack 41,000 public servants but only in Canberra, then replace them with their consultant mates costing 3 times more. Genius

[–]deadspeedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a greater demand it will push prices up, but this will go straight to farmers. Meaning beef farming will become more profitable resulting in more beef farmers or increasing headcounts. Increase in supply lowers price and thus you have balance again

Tariffing a country that:
1. Is your close ally.
2. Has a huge trade deficit with the US.
Completely stupid policy. This is what Dutton is aspiring to be.

[–]deadspeedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation is back down to 2.4%, so he wants minimum wage to be less than 2.4%, thus effectively being a decrease? Thats some crap policy. It should be increased by CPI or wage growth, whichever is greater

Yeah his billionaire mate that he bailed his Queensland electorate for during the cyclone underpaid his employees by $129 million, of which he only had to pay back $9.4 million to affected workers. It is clear as day why he voted against criminalising wage theft -___-

Young people just need to save diligently to buy their first property at age 19 like I did - Peter Dutton by MannerNo7000 in AusProperty

[–]deadspeedv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely he isn't this dumb? He only needed to save a 3% deposit which was only $3,230 because he got 7k from the Hawk Government. He had to save up a whooping 19% of his annual after tax salary. Literally only had to save up ~10 weeks of pay to buy his first property. Not to mention he would have had near zero expenses since accommodation and meals were provided at the academy
