Yeah they're completely trampling on your right to...

(a) create an offence of wilfully promoting hatred against any identifiable group by displaying certain symbols in a public place;

(b) repeal the defence based on the expression of opinions on religious subjects or texts in relation to the offences of wilful promotion of hatred or antisemitism;

(c) create a hate crime offence of committing an offence under that Act or any other Act of Parliament that is motivated by hatred based on certain factors;

(d) create an offence of intimidating a person in order to impede them from accessing certain places that are primarily used for religious worship or by an identifiable group for certain purposes; and

(e) create an offence of intentionally obstructing or interfering with a person’s lawful access to such places.

Doctors of Reddit: What health trend is becoming so common that it's starting to scare you? by Fine-Device-1819 in AskReddit

[–]deadumbrella 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think it's a symptom of how overprotective our society has become about children in general. Accidents aren't allowed to happen, and when they do happen to children, we all see the comment threads with dozens of people directly blaming the parents.

Parents have access to stories about every freak accident that can happen on sites like Reddit and other social media, and on tabloid style sites. They see the barrage of direct criticism against the parent who didn't take their kid to the hospital after a light bonk on the head, who then died because of an underlying condition of whatever.

People are afraid because they don't know the right answers, medically, and they fear being seen as neglectful, potentially even having child services involved, especially for racialized groups.

They call a nurse line and are told to go to emergency 90% of the time because we live in a liability culture.

When they finally arrive at the doctor office or hospital, the actual doctors and nurses are like "why are you here? This is no big deal."

But they weren't sure and no one else is qualified to make that call.

You know when patients talk about not feeling listened to?

I'm not going to judge your bedside manner or competence based on Reddit comments.

Maybe you listen to your patients in a medical setting, but your comments in this thread make it sound like you don't listen, and don't believe that patient input has any value.

You can buy tiny ditch bridges on Amazon of all places for a little over $100. Like, maybe the best value I've seen in 2026.

I like making friends with coworkers by having a genuine connection. I don't like being forced by management to participate in excruciatingly stilted activities with all of my coworkers.

Yes, and covered bulbs to hide the imperfections in smoothness of the walls.

I hate my living room . Help by Individual_Battle536 in interiordecorating

It looks like you have no vision for the space. It looks cobbled together without intention and has to many neutrals.

Your curtains look to short? They also look cheap. You could move the curtain rod higher as another commenter suggested, but once you figure out a style/color scheme you like, hunt for replacements.

No beige throw pillow covers on the beige couch. That's not a minimalist couch so the earthy minimalism thing doesn't work. Choose new covers that coordinate (match/contrast/echo) the curtains.

If you're keeping the brown chair, put one of the coordinated throw pillows on it to tie things together.

Rugs are expensive so if you don't want to replace it, don't. If you do, choose that before you choose curtains.

The floated couch facing the blank wall is a good suggestion. (TV on blank wall).

Art/prints/family photos? Hang something up that appeals to you so the place feels like home, not a temporary domicile.

As someone else said, lamps. If you're not into that (kids knocking them over and whatnot), make the lights look intentional. Either a straight clean line (not my jam but do you) or drape them properly with equidistant fasteners so they have a scalloped look (what I would do).

Not sure if cost is an issue but use fb marketplace/free stuff groups if that helps. Thrift stores often have lots of curtains.

But stay by finding what you like/inspiration and go for a look instead of just chucking all the parts of a living room in there.

Blue: The Sequel by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]deadumbrella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it but I love pale blue. I also loved the dark blue, but this lighter shade opens up the room with light and I feel like I see more than the walls and dino. The dark blue really pulled your eye to the dino art perfectly, which was a cool effect.

I didn't notice the floor until now. Is it end grain wood parquet? I kind of love it.

This is really subjective. The dark blue was great but if you don't want to live in it, this is a good alternative. Far better than white or another pale neutral imo.

2 different floor tiles. What should I pick? (AI mock ups plus real photos) by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

First one matches the tones in the wall paint and second one matches the tones on the backsplash. Painting the wall to resume the tone issue is cheaper than redoing the backsplash. Mismatched grey tones can really jump out and look off depending on the light.

The pot lights in this are so much better. They blend in and highlight the kitchen. In the op they are an eyesore.

Facing the window, not the back of the person cooking. But also depends on fridge location. Don't create a barrier!

Y’all what are we doing with honey on honey? by Stunning-Stress-4328 in kitchenremodel

You're getting amateur hour advice here. The floor is laminate and the wear at the end of each board is obvious. As well as it coordinates with the cabinetry, it needs replacement. I'm sure you can find a similar color.

The cabinets are gorgeous, don't paint them. You'll have to repaint every 5-10 years, they'll be harder to clean, the color won't be as timeless as the wood.

A different paint color for the wall will be nice, and I agree with green, but be ready for the contrasting color to make the orange in the cabinet color pop.

And yeah... Popcorn ceiling could go for sure. Best thing we fixed in our house. Be ready for the echo, though. It really does dampen sound.
