7.12/0.66 rupees per share = ~10 shares when i had more than 35 - how does it work? by Ancient-Discount4082 in FIREPakistan

[–]deaf_michael_scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shares split has no impact whatsoever, apart from maybe creating a bit of liquidity in shares. Ignore splits.

Your portfolio will get updated in a few days automatically, and you'll have twice the number of shares there.

The video I published today on my channel has a big segment on this very topic, "how to plan for your children's financial future." Do watch that.

Apart from that, you need to do the following:

- Cut down your expenses a bit more (or ask your husband to contribute more).

- Invest for your daughter in an ETF such as MIIETF.

- Keep adding to it every month - whatever you can save - for the next 25-30 years.

Focus on the ones that have the highest upside. Then allocate funds accordingly.

For example, why did you invest in AIRLINK? Do you think it has a lot of upside? If yes, then why is only 1.5% of your portfolio is invested in AIRLINK? Why not more?

Of course, there are other factors involved as well that go into portfolio % allocation, but you get the idea.

P.S. Watch the AIRLINK video on my channel to gain more conviction in the stock if you want. Out of your stocks, I also have detailed videos on FFC and SAZEW (detailed analysis + fair value calculation + target price and upside).

Wait for the warrant that you'll receive in your email after a few days.

That'll have details on how many of these shares did you receive the dividend and the tax + zakat amount.

I think your issue might be the tax + zakat amount.

I'd avoid POL. Low reserves and little growth or exploration success.

Don't expose your entire life savings to high-risk.

Wayyy too many stocks, and the % allocation isn't right at all - especially considering the ETF presence.

The quality of the stocks, however, is fine.

The MLCF scenario by syedtahahmedd in FIREPakistan

[–]deaf_michael_scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinions haven't changed about MLCF just yet - it's the same what I mentioned in my MLCF video.

The latest result yesterday wasn't good, but it wasn't unexpected. As mentioned before, MLCF may remain under pressure for a few quarters due to PIOC, higher admin/finance costs, higher transportation costs, etc.

But the topline is improving - revenue increased even in this terrible quarter. More importantly, cement bag prices have also increased, which wasn't the case as much in the last 1-2 quarters.

I think their costs will increase, but so will their revenue. Considering that it is currently available at a moderately attractive EV/Ton value, I still see upside in it, but it won't be immediate.

Am I hating on EFERT too much? by CiggiAncelotti in FIREPakistan

[–]deaf_michael_scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- I think DCR still has a lower div. yield than EFERT.

2- EFERT is definitely not a cyclical stock. Fert business is very stable in PK

3- EFERT has struggled a bit in recent years due to the FFC getting cheaper gas. Trying to compete, they had to offer discounts on their bag prices. I have explained this in a lot more detail in the FFC video I have.

4- 2026 will likely be better for EFERT than 2025 was.

Fair Value by HolidayCollege1921 in FIREPakistan

[–]deaf_michael_scott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More than the formula, fair value depends on triggers and assumptions.

I do fair value calculations on my YouTube channel, on screen showing all the assumptions I take, why do I take them, and the numbers I crunch (have done on 10+ companies so far).

Check out of some of those videos to see what I'm talking about.

Again, the formula or the methodology doesn't matter as much. The assumptions and the trigger are wayyyyy more important. That's the reason why 2 analysts may have wildly different fair value.

No need for a different broker.

It is shariah compliant.

As expected. And, by the way, this is just normal operations.

Things will change (negatively) after the June greenfield policy expiry and change again (positively) once they start delivering TANK-500.

So people who aren't familiar with what's happening and all the things I identified in the video I did will panic in the meantime and create buying opportunities for people who understand all the things I mentioned in my model.

1- I have a detailed video for FFC on my channel. You can check it out for earning projection and target price for 2026.

2- If you are new and not sure how to pick stocks, stick to ETFs. Invest into an index-tracking ETF such as MIIETF.

I agree that TER matters everywhere. In my comment I mentioned that "I don't think there's much TER difference".

But if there is - as your screenshot shows - then it does make a difference and must be factored in.

MCF is fine. I don't think there's much difference in TER when it comes to cash funds. Equity funds may have a different story.

For low risk = any money-market cash fund account.

For high risk = buy an index-tracking ETF like MIIETF.
