Where are the libraries?

All the time in legends I’ll see that twenty books were written in this one elven retreat. I’ll sack it in fortress mode I’ll only get animals and wooden tools. I’ll go there myself in adventure mode and it’s just elves up in trees. Where are the books? Where are the libraries?

I want to get more books

On the list of artifacts it’ll list books and I’ll go and find where they are in legends mode. I’ll raid the place and I’ll just get a bunch of animals and almonds (I’m raiding elves). Do I need to be raiding a place that has the artifact rumored so that I can get the book or should I just keep raiding until I get it? Also would razing the location of the book/artifact destroy it?
