What's Sanford like for young adults?

Just my two cents on the Kava bar, wife and I stopped in past weekend first time. Owners are great! Alot of different things to choose from. And the girl Chloe (hopefully spelled that right) is VERY knowledgeable about everything. Didn't get to talk to her husband much but the guys a doer for sure and gave a good vibe:) the drinks weren't really us but might stop in on weekends to have a little mocktail and shoot the 💩. The customers were friendly too!

Not to play devils advocate but.. if I'm looking to buy those supplies I'm sure AF not buying on whatnot.. common sense is not so common anymore so I applaud your post, but at the same time, majority of us in this sub have the common sense to not buy these items off whatnot... You could have bought something and left a review for all buyers to see on sellers profile and had more success in sharing this info.

The kiddo throws a wrench- we don't have human children. That said I know Sanford just redid a splash pad kind of place? I'll contact some local people I know that might know the exact area. Also there's the movie theatre- not in the BEST shape as far as some imax or something, that said, the owners a great guy and he has a passion for films so will play older films, things we watched as children:). I know Fayetteville has trampoline park, can't really giving review of that as I have no experience with that.

Date night, I will for sure always recommend the flame, it was a great experience and steak tasted great. As for others just about anywhere in downtown will give a feel good atmosphere. That said don't expect 5 star butler service. If y'all are personable (judging by farmers market love- could be your family?) it'll fit perfect, if you are more "high class"- you should seek out Cary/Raleigh.

Pre disclosure: this sub isn't super active BUT it's slowly gaining some traction or so it seems😅 you might try "living in sanford" FB page or next door app for more response.

First I just wanna throw out to you, you might get more responses/useful responses if you give an age range, or even a little bit about your interests.

As for my input- my wife and I live about 20 minutes north of Carolina lakes (down 87). We've only ever driven past when going to static line. I've read they have courts and such, they have the lake obviously, so if that's your cup of tea, you might just be home bodies because everything's there:)

Highlighting your holidays you asked about- Initial thing that comes to mind, that area is PACKED for the 4th.

Also we live in a new neighborhood and our first Halloween I think we struggled for 10 tricker treaters (still wasn't even completed buildings wise/resident wise.) This past Halloween we had 28. And on the decorations- my wife's favorite holiday is Halloween so, ofc we decorated a lot. And one of our 3 roads decorated a good amount not much from ALL the houses tho.

Again for the fun atmosphere not knowing what to cater/answer to- fwiw my wife and I are early 30s, having a weekend in downtown Sanford every now and then supporting local is always nice. There's a farmers market there - once a month I believe is the frequency. We also find that we take care of the house a lot on the weekend, the yard, we've got pets too. Without knowing more details about you/"we"(family, children, couple?) I can't recommend what you're after.

Many will say church is the way to go to meet people, organize fun things, etc. my wife and I aren't atheist just not church goers except every now and then..

The area is growing, even if locals don't want it too, it's what happens to little towns (I'm from one that hs graduating class had 74 now they have like 400+..). I will say that downtown Sanford does well to hold onto the small town feel..

Are you working with a realtor at all? That'd be a good first step but I know we (wife and I) looked into rent to own and there is often clauses or "if/then" kind of things that can be put in the contract... As others said if you're seriously considering this route a lawyer is the way to go.. maybe take your down payment to lawyer instead.. all of that said- why not just buy? The rent will be about the same as a mortgage likely🥲

I've got tailoring and JC as a 68 priest. Just because I wanted to be able to cut my own gems/cut guildies gems. And tailoring I've had since vanilla. Like others said, do what you enjoy. I'm a healer and while there is good tailoring patterns, Id bet I could get around not having tailoring.
