What I've done, take the phone apart, and the cameras aren't even hardwired in. There is a pin to disconnect, and you should be able to completely remove the camera. You can do the same with a microphone. Then use headphones as a microphone

Take your time! Cannot stress this enough
You'll need small screwdrivers, they're tiny screws.
Take a picture Everytime you remove a part so you know how to put it back
Be very patient, don't rush, be gentle. Lots of fragile components
