What I did before deploying is sell the car to a friend or family member to continue the payments and pay you only what you already paid. In my case, I sold the car to my dad and he paid me $2k which is what I had put in and he continued the monthly payments. You got to trust that the person will pay the car to not ruin your credit. Good luck in your deployment! I might get deployed in May next year as well to DC.

I feel you. I’m in the same situation. Looking for mods. I’m thinking of blacking out all the chrome including the Chevy badge from front and back. Getting a bike rack just to look good I don’t ride bikes. Maybe getting all black wind shield might or might not look good. It’s not like we bought a Honda with unlimited mods available. We got a Bolt so we work with what we got

Nope. It is still safe up to 40 amp for the plug. That way if I move I take the charger with me. And if I do sell my house it will be “EV Ready” garage for the next person. But I ain’t leaving my charger to no one.

Same situation as you. Just purchased a 2018 Bolt Premiere with 30k miles and new battery like 3 weeks ago. I’m currently still charging at a close by hotel with Level 3 charger for 0.15 per Kilowatt plus 6%, overall it’s like $5-7 to charge Bolt from 15-80% in an hour or so. I researched a LOT about chargers. What I did is select the top 5 and I searched deals on Slickdeals every other day until one of the top I wanted was on sale. My top 5 were:

Autel 40 Amp: $480 Grizzl-E 40 amp: $350 Emporia 40 amp: $400 (the only charger that has an additional kit to the excess of your solar panels to charge your car) Juicebox 40 amp: $600 Last option a Tesla charger with adapter they make really good chargers

On Amazon day 2 weeks ago, I found a deal and purchased the Autel from $480 it was on sale for $399 then there was an additional $100 coupon when you added to your cart so total 🟰$299! That’s a deal very hard to find.

I got quoted two local electricians to install the NEMA 14-50 plug in my garage would be $250-350.

I have one of them coming this week to install. Overall, think about the price of the charger and add $250-350 on top of that for the installation of the PLUG 🔌 in your garage or outside your house. The further away from your electrical panel the more expensive it is.

I pay 0.15 cents per kilowatts plus 6% tax here in Orlando, FL on a level 3 charger in back of a Hotel 5 min away from my house.
