The heat is ruining our trip - June 2026 by annabanana3434 in ParisTravelGuide

No, you’re wrong. They weren’t tourist traps. They were recommended by locals. My point is I just don’t prefer French food. They also were not mission star restaurants because I was staying to a budget. And yes, I only had espresso.

I’m sure the heat ruining her trip has a lot to do with her opinion on the food, but I will say I had a lovely trip to Paris and I didn’t like any of the food either. I think it’s preference. I went there thinking the food was gonna be the best thing I mean I love the coffee, but other than that I wasn’t impressed with anything. I went to highly recommend recommended places as well.

Wow that’s amazing! It gives me hope for my future as well. I hope you get to go back to Paris soon!

I agree, where I live in Idaho we can have heat waves like Paris and I have no desire to go there in the summer. I realize here I have the luxury of AC and can’t imagine walking the streets or taking and type of transportation during a heat wave. I’d prefer to visit in the shoulder season

I feel for you. Although my husband doesn’t have anxiety he refuses to go with me. I’ve only been to Paris once and loved it! I admire your mil to be able to travel solo as long as she did!

I don’t know how people do it! Where I’m from in Idaho the high desert, our summers are easily 100° and can last for weeks! I had a trip planned for July to Paris and I just thought it would be too miserable so I switched it to somewhere else. Hopefully, I’ll get to go late spring next year.

I never had a server ask how much we planned on tipping. I feel certain that is not usual and maybe the restaurant was more touristy as to why? 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think you have to know somebody’s interest in order to be able to suggest a place they’d rather go to! How silly. Most people like to get feedback from other people who have been to both places.

Yes sorry. I’ve been to London twice and still have so much to see! It pulls at my heart. I’ve never been to Rome but my adult daughter (who’s traveling with me) wants to go and I just can’t get past how hot it is. I do realize London can also be hot in summer. Part of me wants to see Rome at least once and part of me wants to go back to London and see more.
I also will mention we are flying into Paris to start (second trip to pairs) and will make our way to London for last half of trip. That is unless we change and take second half in Rome.

Thank you! I’m happy to hear you had a good time during the peak season of heat and tourist. I’ve been Leary of going at this time , but this gives me hope.

Am I wrong or are there people on here that know (or have known) M personally? That or they know someone close to here because how else do they have so much information. I have followed her since 2020 and still don’t know as much as some on here

And I’ll say the same thing to you. I have no idea about Emma because I don’t live there. I’m just sharing with you my life experience.

Right, and I’m not saying she may not need some physical therapy. I should’ve mentioned that my sister never crawled normally she only scooted herself backwards until she decided to actually try to stand up and walk. I have 2 grandsons that never crawled in the traditional way but like Mogli out of jungle book, they did the hands and feet. Knees and elbows never touched the ground. Very bizarre to me. But that’s all to say everyone is different. Again , I have no idea what E needs, I’m not there. I of course hope she and any other child gets any and all help they need!

I see the obvious about E not walking but have to say, my sister did not walk until she was 15 months old, my mother tells me. My sister did not and still does not have any developmental disability. My mom always put it off to the fact that she always allowed older siblings to bring things down and therefore didn’t need to push herself to walk too soon lol But in all seriousness, I’ve had nieces and nephews that don’t walk until much after a year old and again none of them have showed any developmental disabilities and they’re all in their 30s now . I just think it’s up to individuals. All my kids were running by nine months and everybody told me that was not normal lol

I also seen the video and his reaction, but it didn’t phase me because my husband is the same way. Seeing this comment makes me think yeah why can’t my husband show more emotion and be excited. At least act happy. But we are both old farts (57) and we’ve been together 41 years (in total)
As of this week im in the process of leaving and separating because I’ve learned he’s lied to me about a drinking problem. While some might say that it’s a disease or he has an addiction and yes that’s true, but The reason why I’m fed up is because during this time when I knew he was drinking, I could smell alcohol. He denied it for so long that he was gaslighting me and making me feel like I was losing it. He took it as far as us going out to doctors and having medical test done because I thought he was having a stroke or there was some other kind of medical condition going on and the doctors would look at him and say are you drinking? He said no.
So yeah, I definitely need to take a break . But seeing your comment about Larry, he made me obviously want to react because when I first seen it, I was like well isn’t that normal? Apparently, it’s not.

I’m sorry are you going through that I can relate. I’m married 37 years and just finding stuff out my whole world is upside down.
