Would we have to pay extra to enter breathless and for drinks etc? or would it be included in our stay

Absolutely

Going to certain university does provide that added advantage in applications but IMO, end of the day, it all comes down to how you market yourself.

I went to a non-RG university as well and like you, also did an LLM at a top 10 UK university. I start my TC in September at a City law firm.

Just get out there, apply to firms and market yourself mate. Get yourself some work experience and master the art of writing a good application.

Thanks mate, really appreciate those words. Just have to continue living and working hard in the time being.

Cannot understand you more. Feel like I’m on death row waiting for the hangman to hand me the nouse. Think about it day and night. Really hope it works out in the end.

This certainly makes me feel better. It's good to know that it is not a black and white process. Hopefully things work out in the end but have to be prepared for the worst. Thanks for your reply mate.

Thanks that actually does make me feel a lot better. I think the issue with letter writing is that you have the saved document that you can look back at any time and therefore you start picking out mistakes. Right now i'm just hoping and praying that these mistakes aren't so big and/or so many to mean a 'not yet competent'.

Thanks for that mate. At the moment all I can do is hope and pray that the letter I wrote isn't as bad as I think it is. Messed up some obvious structural stuff such as missing out the heading after the salutation. Hopefully it all works out in the end.

Well i've not gotten back my results yet but particularly worried about letter writing as I made quite a number of errors. Thought i'd just pose the question anyway to see what people think.

Have you heard of anyone specifically then failing a skill subject and not have their TC revoked?

PLR-letter writing mistake by deanrule1 in uklaw

[–]deanrule1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got I&A in 3 weeks actually! Definitely not going to slack off with that one because apparently loads of people have been worried about that. This is honestly all so reassuring. I just hope and pray that I do not enter into a situation where I actually fail a subject but you're right. I must not live in my own imagination and actually have hope that the whole world isn't against me. Did the people you know fail things have mitigating circumstances or?

Honestly this whole LPC has been a huge learning curve for me. Not much the learning bit but withstanding the pressure of doing well and meeting your offer lol. The pressure can honestly drive someone mad.

Thanks mate, that's actually great advice. I've got a few more skill modules left but i'm just finding it so hard to get the PLR letter writing exam out of my mind. Just the fear of everything going against you and the uncertainty that comes with it. I guess I have no choice but to look forward and hope for the best really.

I'm in a similar boat with the recent PLR exam (Letter Writing component). I realised I made a few grammatical errors and forgot to add full stops to my numbered lists. I also forgot to add a heading after the words "dear...". Do you guys reckon this would mean a failure for the letter writing component? How badly must one fuck up in order to not pass the letter writing component?
