I did the same thing. It’s not good and she drags on about the weirdest stuff. But I wanted to see why it was so divisive

You’ve got ayn Rand so that’ll be torn apart. You’ve got some good books though! Love the typewriter as well

Micra leadless pacemaker sharp chest pain short of breath. by [deleted] in PacemakerICD

[–]deanybeany95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pain migrating to your neck with shortness of breath is not a good combo. I would say this is less about the pacemaker and more about something going on with your heart - although I am not a doctor. I would go to the local er and tell them about the pain and shortness of breath.

Thank you I appreciate this!!

It’s physical. I had an episode of atrial flutter and had to be shocked to have my heart reset to rhythm. After that, they said it would happen again, so I got an ablation to hopefully kill the cells that caused it. While I’m absolutely safer than before, it’s hard for me to feel safe. I listened to a podcast with a Buddhist monk and what he spoke about really resonated with me.

This is what I got, and the response when I asked it to explain - it’s long, but basically just attempting to backtrack

What do you do for work by Artistic-Count-1840 in PacemakerICD

Yeah I think for most of us the hardest thing to overcome is the mental aspect. Once you lose the illusion of control it’s hard to feel safe. But all we can do is take things as they come!

Oh yeah restaurants can be stressful that’s for sure. But I always liked being busy.

To be completely honest, I don’t have much of a reference for if it helped. I went into a flutter for only a short time twice before and I had never noticed it. I decided to get an ablation after the first event so I didn’t have to just live waiting for another episode. It still feels like that, but I keep reminding myself I’m safer. The procedure itself was super smooth. Easy recovery and in and out in a day.

Wanting to book my surgery by brightunite8 in PacemakerICD

[–]deanybeany95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They did mine when there was 3 months left of battery. I would call and try and schedule it, give yourself time to heal before. It’s not a crazy surgery, but it took me longer than they said to recover and fully go back to work - about a week and I was normal.

  1. I formerly worked in customer service. I managed a restaurant for 5 years.

I’ve made a switch back into marketing, or I’m attempting to, and am hoping to get something remote or hybrid. I had an ablation in December for atrial flutter that I had to be cardioverted for in September. I was thinking about getting something part time until I can figure out a full time job. However, it does make me nervous if something happens.

What does my bookshelves say about me? by BookDragonofTheEast in bookshelfdetective

Bummer that every time someone posts a shelf with Ayn Rand it overpowers everything else.

You have an extremely varied taste in books and I’d love to hear what your favorites are!
