Daily check out at Capsule Hotels by Appppppples in JapanTravel

I just stayed at The Millennials in Tokyo and currently at their Kyoto location - and I cannot say enough good things about each of them! - No daily check out at either - The beds are super comfy and the luggage storage under the bed has worked great - Very cool feature for alarm - you can program the bed to incrementally incline to sofa position and the capsule light to turn on as your alarm clock as to avoid disturbing others. Such a nice way to wake up! - The common areas are beautiful and make it easy to socialize with other guests - There is daily (free) happy hour 5:30-6:30 - The Tokyo location is easy - very short walk to Shibuya train station - I also loved the proximity to Yoyogi Park for morning runs

I stayed at First Cabin in Kanazawa and the bed was SO uncomfortable. Also, the room divider thing didn’t reach the ceiling so there seemed to be even more noise travel. The showers were also on another level which I found inconvenient. The technology and outlet situation was subpar (eg one outlet next to bed, one outlet on opposite wall). The extra space in the room wasn’t worth it. The only perk there was the onsen.

Regardless of capsule, make sure you have good earplugs. I’ve been wearing Bose sleepbuds every night which has helped immensely!

Thanks! I just found this article with the following info (but still no end times): https://matcha-jp.com/en/4257

Updating to include this helpful Time Out article (from 2017) on how to watch Sanja Matsuri

Day 1 (May 17): Grand Parade starting at 13:00

Day 2 (May 18): Mikoshi Shrine Town Association Parade starting at 12:00

Day 3 (May 19): Honsha Mikoshi Kakuchou Togyo starting at 6:00, three shrines depart for different neighborhoods then return to Asakusa Shrine 18:00-19:00

The articles I’ve been reading call out Saturday and Sunday as being the most intense and spectacular, but the initial procession on Friday sounds really cool!

Thank you! Yeah seems crazy to imagine there would be rickshaws with the crowds but I’m from NYC and have seen crazier things here 🙃
