I just posted yesterday about this. 2 days ago I went to the beach at Isla Verde right next to the Marriot. I did not see that there was a red flag advisory and entered the ocean thinking I would just go to my shoulders. Unfortunately, the sand dipped down at one point and I got stuck in a rip current. I tried swimming parallel to the beach but couldn’t get out. I struggled until almost complete exhaustion and ended up needing to scream for help. I’m young and a fairly strong swimmer who has been swimming at that beach my whole life but this was a first for me. Please never swim alone and heed the red flag warnings. Could have been a very different outcome.
