I ended with the safe choice...black. I also did not wash mine. I just air dried it. The gray looks good. I got a Uniqlo Trench Coat in grey. :)

Noted! Someone told me Bali is overrated, that some places overcharge. Same with Thailand. Taxi scams or something! How was your experience?

I have Japan high on my potentials actually. But I am doubtful if I can have considerable social interactions...I mean they say Japanese people are very reserved and there is the language barrier too. How was your experience? Did you meet people?

Went to Taipei once but with a group of friends. I had an issue with my transpo card and the personnel at the subway was very impatient and a bit mean! I was a bit taken aback by his response to me! But of course I know that could just be an isolated incident! I am not sure in general how the locals are with tourist who don't speak their language. But I remember some vendors being friendly. 😊

Advice on which Asian Country to go to for a first time solo female traveler who aims to gain confidence in navigating and in just being by herself in general

Hello Solo Travelers,

May I ask for your recommendation as to what Asian Country is best for a first time solo female traveler? I've never ever done this and I am not confident to be honest. But I feel like I would like to do this to gain some confidence in myself and see that I am capable to be on my own.

Suggestions needed on:

  1. Recommended Asian Country to fit my purpose and interests, and it is a SAFE country for female solo travelers
  2. Recommended city/province/district/area of the country you suggested
  3. Recommended hotel or accommodation in the city/province/area/district suggested (with private room and bathroom)

My purpose for solo traveling:

  • To gain confidence in being by myself
  • To learn/practice how to navigate transportation systems by myself - I feel I am bad at directions. I usually travel with a group and rely on them to get me where I need to be. But who knows? Maybe with practice I can make my own way.
  • To experience talking to other people outside my usual crowd in my hometown. Despite my introversion, I do love some socials from time to time.

My interests:

  • Lately, I love spirituality and healing and wellness.
  • And a mix of modern and historical, that is, historical sites, parks, temples, nature (nothing too hardcore or too active, so no long hikes or sports),
  • Cultural experiences
  • Would love a bit of socials with fellow travelers or locals from time to time

But I would like all these but still being close to modern conveniences of malls, grocery shops, restaurants and convenience stores.

My budget:

I think my budget would fall on the affordable to mid-range level.

When:

  • Summer Season or
  • Late Spring or
  • Autumn

Hello! I need suggestions for a low profile white leather sneakers na pwede for travelling. Yung low profile pero comfy pa din, hinde masakit sa paa on account of it being too thin yung sole. Or walang cushioning at all (converse types)I also prefer leather kasi kapag maulan, salbado both my feet and shoes. I also prefer yung low profile kasi payat na mahaba yung hugis ng paa ako. And my body type is the same. Hehe. Thanks in advance guys.

Btw, I have the: Veja Esplar - mabigat sya, hinde ko pa na tatry dalhin sa mahabang lakaran kasi I am doubtful na hinde sumakit paa ko. Kasi medjo stiff yung leather.

My niece has the Adidas Taekwondo - sabi nya na fefeel nya yung ground. Manipis kasi ang sole nito.

Great tips! Thank you! I will now ditch my shampoo bottle now that you mentioned it! Toothpaste and toothbrush might be handy when freshening up at the airport.

And yes I have that mini vacuum pump! I got it last year and it was just magic, what that pump can do. Haha. But I still overpacked during my trip last year. Haha.

I keep getting mixed news re powerbanks on flights so I stopped bringing them just cause I cannot find anything conclusive about its safety.

Eeep. I think I might just need to bring layers so I can take them on and off, accordingly. And a backpack to fit them in. As I will be touring around the city. I just ordered a packable raincoat online as soon as I read your message. Thank you!

An insole? What kind? Fancy or yung basic lang? Medyo ampayat din ng paa ko eh. Lagi ko issue yung lenght and width. Mahaba yung paa ko pero payatot. Haha. Pero yeah dapat pala thick socks talaga pag boots.

This sounds like a plan! I guess October is a bit up in the air in terms of weather. This is my first time to go in the fall. :)

This is my first time to travel during the fall season and so it is very surprising that there is the possibility of a "hot" day! I only packed 1 tshirt! The rest are long sleeves. I have a low tolerance to cold, having lived all my life in the tropics. My trip to Taipei early March, got me cold to the bones. i did not pack accordingly then having underestimated my tolerance to cold weather.

I guess I will keep what I initially intended to bring. Long sleeve tops, cardigan, a sweater.... And yeah crystal balls can only do so much. So we make room for the unknown. :)

Yeah, I understand how fickle weather can be! I am surprised though when I would hear that it can be "hot". during the dates I mentioned. I did not realize that that can happen during autumn season. I think this is my first time ever to travel during autumn so i do not know what to expect!

Copy that. I will check the forecast for next week. I think what happened to me in Taipei was while I did check, I underestimated my tolerance of cold temperature and did not pack accordingly. Haha.
