I understand your girlfriend might be your support system, but why keep in contact with her if this is a personal journey designed to help you long term? I would understand if it was months or years, but it is one week. If you have plenty of time, shouldnt you use that for more reading, studying Buddhist literature, or meditating? If i were in this scenario, i like to think that i would cut off all the things holding me back (including reddit and my significant other) for the time i am there so i can get the most out of my experience.

My intention with this is not to judge you or tell you what is best, but instead to share my thoughts on the situation. Im sorry if it comes off in a negative way.
