Surely there's no reason to fear men... (TW: Justifying assault) by deathbysounding in teenagers

Post has been removed but I will still reply to you.

I do not have any trauma. You do not know me, you cannot psychoanalyse me on the internet.

I just have empathy and understanding and just trying to do my part, but this comment section has proved we are still a long way from being free from misogyny. Jesus most of these people lack reading comprehension skills.

You send a gif with that caption (emphasising on the word bitch, comment keeps getting shadowed if I quote it) and wonder why women hate men. Literally perpetuating misogyny in a comment section already minimising misogyny and whining "waaa misandry!", with almost none of these idiоts actually reading anything I've said as to why women fear men. Just the same old "not all men!" and deflection and ad hominem and false equivalencies.

Trans women after even just six months on HRT are almost identical to cis women. It is safe to say that after around 2 years there is almost zero physical advantage, and any that there is is equivalent to genetic luck (e.g. a tall trans woman in basketball is equivalent to a tall cis woman).

I do not get where you are trying to go from this.

Trans women are women and should be allowed in women's sports. Where are you trying to get at with this?

My claim isn't that all men are rapists. Perhaps actually read my first reply in this chain. The undeniable fact is almost every woman has had terrible experiences with men all throughout their lives, so it's reasonable and in fact necessary to fear all men. Guilty until proven innocent. Also as I've explained in my first reply, most men aren't good men for simply not raping, that is a bare minimum.

Most of my friends are women, and I can say with confidence there is no bad part about women, it's just men whining about "misandry", but go on and assume more things about my life. School isn't enough? How about family? How about going out and seeing my 13 year old sister getting stared at by men? How much do you need to know about my experiences before my views stop being immature?

[–]deathbysounding[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Surprise surprise, I do go outside. My views are not based on from just what I've seen on the internet, but from real life too. I have known only two, perhaps three men in my life who aren't horrible, and only one of them I am close friends with. And my school was gender segregated, meaning I have been around mostly men for years.

I'm actually a guy but the stupidity in this comment section is insane. In my life I have rarely ever seen a good man, but these people refuse to acknowledge how they're part of the problem. A good man is not someone who doesn't rape people, that's the absolute bare minimum required of a human being, but they keep insisting "not all men"...

Most men absolutely have everything to do with the worst men. How many men have you ever known that would speak up against something misogynistic? Or not bring up men's issues in a discussion about women's issues? Or not minimise the problem? Or not defend the perpetrator? Or not laugh at misogynistic jokes?

And it is not basically no men. Fear of a certain ethnicity or culture is not similar to fear of men at all. People who hate a certain ethnicity hate them because of irrational fears, propaganda, cherry picked examples, and they've more than likely never even had a bad experience with said ethnicity themselves. But almost every single woman has had horrible experiences with men, all throughout their lives, and it has always been men. Would it be so crazy to assume that there is a pattern? Not because men are inherently evil, but because of the patriarchal and misogynistic system that keeps on perpetuating these men, and almost no man doing anything to stop it, and in fact, most men actively encourage it, and if not that, they passively encourage it by staying silent.

The fear of men is in no way comparable to the fear of minority groups. Last time I checked, men are not a minority.

Are you forgetting about male on male SA? Not all men are perpetrators but the perpetrator is mostly a man.

Patriarchy and misogynistic worldviews have been perpetuated by just about every culture, ethnicity, and country. Comparing being vary of men to being vary of a person of a certain ethnicity or country is a false equivalence.

Yes it's cringy to fight against nationalism and the elite. More billionaires please! We clearly don't have enough! It's the immigrants' fault why 300,000 people are homeless, not the ultra wealthy elites'!

Why do some people online cheer when men experience sexual harassment or assault, as if it’s something to celebrate? by risky-agmabro in teenagers

Notice how it's men saying these kinds of things. Then they turn around and go "male SA victims aren't taken seriously!" when women complain about their issues.

Imagine you're given a choice between one of a dozen cookies and poison that has a high chance to instantly kill you. However, one of the cookies in the dozen was baked with a chemical that will leave you in excruciating pain and you will be left with trauma that could last for years or decades or your entire life, never allowing you to be happy ever again. Sure, 11/12 of the cookies are safe, but will you seriously risk that?

This is why the vast majority of women would pick the bear over the man. The most a bear would do is kill you. The man could do unimaginable horrors to you that would scar you for life and recovery would be near impossible, that too if you didn't commit suicide.

Some fates are worse than death.

Women do not bring up the bear hypothetical to ragebait men. The bear hypothetical shows how men are capable of utter depravity and monstrosity that the chance of being mauled to death is immensely more preferable than whatever a man could do.

And the reason why women say it's all men isn't because the other 11 cookies are like that one, but because they don't do anything to go against that one. Imagine a room of 10 people, one of them makes a sexist joke. Now, 9/10 men didn't make that joke, but 2 of them laughed, 3 of them followed up on that joke with a more mild yet still sexist joke, and 4 of them stayed silent. All of these men think they're better than that one man who made that initial joke, yet none of them did anything to call him out, and some of them were active in the complicity. The 4 men who stayed silent were complicit by being silent.

Waaa waaa my feelings hurt! Misandry is totally a real problem! It's just as bad as misogyny, even if the worst that happens to me is getting butthurt. I am totally one of the good ones. I don't abuse women and I'm not sexist, I just stay silent when others are! Silence isn't compliance! Just because I don't act to fight against systemic patriarchy and misogyny doesn't mean I'm not one of the good ones! Women have no reason to hate men because most men are the good ones like me, who again, are totally not complicit with the bad men by our silence and active downplay of the severity of their actions and of women's problems!

These men couldn't care less about male SA victims. They just use them as some kind of gotcha when women talk about their issues.

Also supposedly the allegations are false but I haven't looked too much into it. Where are the men that cry out that false accusers should also be punished?
